Speaking to Radio MARCA, Leeds United and Spain forward Rodrigo Moreno has opened up on the rumours linking him with a move to Real Madrid this summer.

Having lost Karim Benzema, Marco Asensio, Eden Hazard, and Mariano Diaz this summer, Los Blancos are left with just two senior forwards in Vinicius Jr and Rodrygo Goes.

It has forced them into the market for multiple attacking reinforcements. A move for RCD Espanyol’s Joselu is understood to be close to completion.

At the same time, though, a move for Leeds United’s Rodrigo Moreno has also been speculated. The former Valencia man scored 15 goals in 35 matches during the 2022/23 season, but could not prevent Leeds United from getting relegated from the Premier League.

It has been suggested that the 32-year-old could be signed for a minimal fee of just €3.5 million, which appeals to the Merengues.

And when quizzed about the reported interest from Real Madrid, Rodrigo replied: “I live in the real world, I have Instagram and friends who read the papers. I can’t tell you much beyond what we all know. I am very focused on the national team. Then, I don’t know what’s going to happen, I have a contract with Leeds and that is respected.”

In case Real Madrid do not opt to go after a superstar signing like Harry Kane, they might opt to move for Joselu and Rodrigo, as possible stop-gap options before they sign Kylian Mbappe for free next year.

The 32-year-old Rodrigo is a player who is well-versed with the rigours of La Liga, having played for years at Valencia. Furthermore, he is coming on the back of a decent season with Leeds United and would be available for a bargain.

However, only time will tell if Real Madrid plan on acting on their reported interest in the Spanish international.

Real Madrid will be looking to return to winning ways as they get set to take on UD Las Palmas in a couple of hours at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Following the derby debacle against Atletico de Madrid last weekend, it is imperative for Los Merengues to bounce back strongly tonight.

With kick-off not very long away, Carlo Ancelotti has announced the starting lineup that will be stepping onto the pitch to face Las Palmas.

Ancelotti has changed things a fair bit from the derby defeat, with both Luka Modric and Toni Kroos dropping to the bench.

But the biggest surprise is that Jude Bellingham has also been rested by the Real Madrid boss.

Instead, Real Madrid go in with the quartet of Aurelien Tchouameni, Federico Valverde, Eduardo Camavinga, and Brahim Diaz in their diamond midfield setup. The latter makes his first start for Real Madrid this season.

Up top, Joselu returns to the starting lineup, pairing up alongside Rodrygo Goes while Vinicius Jr remains on the bench, having only recently returned from an injury.

At the back, club captain Nacho Fernandez starts his first game of the season at the expense of Lucas Vazquez at right-back. Ferland Mendy also gets a look-in at left-back while David Alaba and Antonio Rudiger make up the rearguard that will shield Kepa Arrizabalaga.
