41-goal Real Madrid target will not join Manchester United this summer

Kylian Mbappe is at the centre of the rumour mill heading into the summer transfer window after announcing his decision to not renew with PSG beyond 2024.
Real Madrid, who were planning to sign him for free next year, are now gunning for his signing this year itself, as Les Parisiens wish to offload him now rather than seeing him leave for free twelve months later.
This is even after Mbappe insisted that he wishes to stay in Paris for the upcoming season. The message from PSG is that either the forward renews his contract or is sold.
As such, there is a lot of interest surrounding the Mbappe situation, particularly from Real Madrid, who are understood to be willing to spend €200 million on his signing.
There had been murmurs of interest from Premier League heavyweights Manchester United as well, who are also in the market for a top-quality forward this summer.
However, Laurie Whitwell of The Athletic is reporting that sources from both Manchester United and PSG have ruled out the possibility of Mbappe moving to Old Trafford in the upcoming transfer window.
The talk of the Red Devils moving for Mbappe had come out due to their potential takeover by Sheikh Jassim of Qatar. While the ownership change at the Theatre of Dreams remains a strong possibility, there is little to no chance that it would lead to the Frenchman joining them this summer.
As per the report, Mbappe’s dream continues to be to play for Real Madrid and if he does indeed leave PSG, the idea is for him to end up at the Santiago Bernabeu, be it this year or the next.
It is now up to the 24-year-old, who scored 41 goals in 2022/23, and PSG to resolve the situation and decide whether he is sold this summer or allowed to remain at the club for one more season before he can leave for free. In either scenario, Real Madrid are likely the favourites to secure his signing.

French midfielder admits considering PSG move before Real Madrid called him

Aurelien Tchouameni has had an exciting start to his career at Real Madrid. Since joining the club for almost €80 million last summer, the young Frenchman has now become a pivotal figure in Real Madrid’s midfield unit.
However, prior to his move to Santiago Bernabeu, the midfielder was closely linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain.
In a recent interview, Tchouameni opened up on his links to PSG but revealed his decision to join Real Madrid.
Aurelien Tchouameni on PSG links
Talking about speculations linking him to PSG, Tchouameni said (h/t Madrid Zone), “PSG? Frankly, I thought about it. It’s a very big European club, we want the French clubs to succeed.”
“But honestly, when Real Madrid calls you, it’s very complicated to say no,” Tchouameni added.

The midfielder was linked with a move to PSG during his time at AS Monaco. Les Parisiens wanted to sign the youngster as part of their plans to reinforce the midfield unit.
Tchouameni, though, ended up opting for a move to Real Madrid, which turned out to be a prudent decision from the midfielder’s end.
Tchouameni’s career at Real Madrid
Aurelien Tchouameni made a total of 50 competitive appearances during his maiden season at Real Madrid.
Although the Frenchman was not entirely a first-team regular in Carlo Ancelotti’s setup, his stature in the team is expected to grow in the coming years.
Especially as Toni Kroos and Luka Modric move on at the end of the season, there is scope for Tchouameni to become a first-team regular in the Real Madrid midfield in the years to come.
The former AS Monaco starlet has already played a crucial role in the starting eleven so far this season and it is only going to continue as the season progresses.
