The clash at the Balaidos on Friday night was not easy by any measure for Real Madrid as they were made to toil by Celta Vigo for the three points, and only a combination of Jude Bellingham and Joselu netted the winner.

The game had its highs and lows, including a missed penalty and a couple ofdisallowed goals. While a win for Real Madrid is only fair, Celta Vigo had their chances to take the game home as well.

But ultimately, it was Los Blancos who prevailed with that man Bellingham proving to be the match-winner yet again.

Alaba delighted by Bellingham

Veteran defender David Alaba spoke to the media after the game and was asked to comment on Bellingham’s unbelievable run so far at Real Madrid to which he said:

“Bellingham is crazy. I don’t know what to say, I’m speechless. He is a good boy, he is very talented and works very hard in training. He has many qualities and he proves it every week.”

Alaba himself delivered a solid performance on the night, producing four defensive actions and completing 94% of his passes. The Austrian spoke about the importance of winning at Balaidos and the confidence it transmitted to the team.

“We feel very good after winning like this. It wasn’t easy but these victories are very important for the group. It strengthens us. Sometimes winning like this is better than winning 4-0,” he said.

With a goal ruled out and a missed penalty, the game last night had no dearth of unexpected twists. The central defender reiterated the same, saying,

“There were many setbacks, but we had a lot of faith. We believed until the end, pressed very high and tried to mark. We deserved the victory.”

Kepa happy with debut

Meanwhile, it was a special occasion for Kepa Arrizabalaga, who spoke to the media after his first playing his first game for Real Madrid.

“It was a very important victory. We’ve played our first three games away from home and we’ve won three out of three. It was a tough game, Celta at home are very strong and it was their centenary,” he said about the challenge that the hosts posed.

“The fans were also right behind them. It was a performance characterised by maturity and patience. We’re happy to pick up the three points,” he added.

He then spoke about his incorporation into the Real Madrid dressing room and the transition to life in Madrid so far, saying:

“I’ve tried to take things as calmly as possible. I’m gradually getting to know my teammates and what the coach expects of me. I’ve been with my teammates for a week and a few days now. I’m happy to contribute to the pitch.”

Finally, he added a note on his first outing for the men in white which also brought the first clean sheet to his name.

“I’m settling in gradually. I’m the newest arrival and I’m looking forward to helping out. I’m particularly happy with the clean sheet, the result, and the three points,” he concluded.

Aurelien Tchouameni has had an exciting start to his career at Real Madrid. Since joining the club for almost €80 million last summer, the young Frenchman has now become a pivotal figure in Real Madrid’s midfield unit.

However, prior to his move to Santiago Bernabeu, the midfielder was closely linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain.

In a recent interview, Tchouameni opened up on his links to PSG but revealed his decision to join Real Madrid.

Talking about speculations linking him to PSG, Tchouameni said (h/t Madrid Zone), “PSG? Frankly, I thought about it. It’s a very big European club, we want the French clubs to succeed.”

“But honestly, when Real Madrid calls you, it’s very complicated to say no,” Tchouameni added.

The midfielder was linked with a move to PSG during his time at AS Monaco. Les Parisiens wanted to sign the youngster as part of their plans to reinforce the midfield unit.

Tchouameni, though, ended up opting for a move to Real Madrid, which turned out to be a prudent decision from the midfielder’s end.

Tchouameni’s career at Real Madrid

Aurelien Tchouameni made a total of 50 competitive appearances during his maiden season at Real Madrid.

Although the Frenchman was not entirely a first-team regular in Carlo Ancelotti’s setup, his stature in the team is expected to grow in the coming years.

Especially as Toni Kroos and Luka Modric move on at the end of the season, there is scope for Tchouameni to become a first-team regular in the Real Madrid midfield in the years to come.

The former AS Monaco starlet has already played a crucial role in the starting eleven so far this season and it is only going to continue as the season progresses.
