With this uncompromising conviction, Ancelotti expressed his belief in the team’s capability to realize this aspiration.

Meanwhile, speaking about the game, the manager did not shy away from putting the likes of Brahim Diaz and Fran Garcia in the spotlight. When asked which player has surprised him the most this season, he said,

“Brahim has earned an important role in the squad, but just like the new ones like Joselu or Fran,” said the manager as quoted by SPORT.

Kylian Mbappe has already announced his departure from PSG at the end of the season, meaning that it is only a matter of time before he officially becomes a Real Madrid player.

Speaking about it, the manager said, “It is a matter that I do not take into account at this moment. We have many things to do. Until June 1, we are very clear about what we should think about.

“Macron’s statement on Mbappe and the Olympics? I cannot comment on what the French president says. I have no right to comment,” he added.

Meanwhile, the manager also affirmed that during the celebration of the league title, he will be wearing his iconic sunglasses and the cigar. “Tomorrow you will see me with the cigar and sunglasses at the celebration.”

What about the Champions League final?

The likes of Eder Militao and Thibaut Courtois got essential minutes against Granada and as they continue to get first team minutes, they might start in the Champions League final against Borussia Dortmund.

While Militao can feature given Aurelien Tchouameni’s injury, Courtois’ participation hinges entirely on the manager’s selection.

“There are good feelings with Militao and Courtois, who are improving. We want to get the whole team at its best for the final and I think we will arrive in the best condition,” explained the manager.

Speaking in an interview with Sport BILD (h/t AS), Germany legend Michael Ballack has claimed that Bayer Leverkusen sensation Florian Wirtz is ready to play for Real Madrid.

Wirtz is a player that Real Madrid have been closely monitoring for a while now, with the German sensation being seen as a long-term replacement for Toni Kroos, who announced his retirement yesterday.

A move for Wirtz is being planned for the summer of 2025 and Ballack believes that the Bundesliga title winner with Leverkusen is ready for the big move to the Santiago Bernabeu.

“Wirtz is ready for Real Madrid,” said Ballack.

“In terms of football, Wirtz can definitely play for Real Madrid. You can also see it in Jude Bellingham after his move from BVB: when you play with even better players, you become even better,” he added.

Wirtz has a contract with Bayer Leverkusen that runs until the summer of 2027. As things stand, the new German champions have no intentions of selling their prized asset this year.

However, there appears to be an acceptance that the German international will be on the move in 2025.

Other top clubs like Manchester City and Bayern Munich are also understood to be interested, but Real Madrid are likely to beat them in the race should it come down to that next year.

A move for Wirtz, though, could cost in excess of €100 million for Real Madrid should they do indeed decide to proceed with his signing next year.
