Arsenal interested in loaning Real Madrid midfielder for the remainder of the season
Arsenal may have a slow start to the January transfer window so far, notably missing out on the pursuit of Mykhailo Mudryk to Chelsea, but they are determined to improve their squad by shifting their attention to other targets.
According to Standard Sport, one of Arsenal’s priorities is to reinforce the ranks in the midfield department. To that end, they have plotted a shock move for Real Madrid youngster Eduardo Camavinga.
The report suggests the Premier League leaders want to sign the Frenchman on a loan deal until the end of the season. The club’s interest in the player comes in the midst of fears over Arsenal’s lack of depth in the midfield department.
Although the Gunners are firmly leading the Premier League table, they are short on numbers in midfield.
The team are often heavily reliant on the duo of Granit Xhaka and Thomas Partey. As such, Mikel Arteta wants to rope in someone who can compete with the two.
Camavinga has emerged as an ideal option for the Arsenal manager. The former Rennes starlet has found it difficult to become a first-team regular at Real Madrid so far. In contrast, the summer addition of compatriot Aurelien Tchouameni has further dwindled his role in the team.
Arsenal have been alerted to Camavinga’s situation and are looking to secure his services until the end of the season.
However, it seems unclear whether Real Madrid would be open to sanctioning the exit of Camavinga.
Much like Arsenal, the Whites have a dearth of options in the middle of the park, and with the likes of Luka Modric and Toni Kroos facing an uncertain future at the club, keeping hold of youngsters like Camavinga and Tchouameni could be essential.

Toni Kroos mentoring Guler at Real Madrid
Guler has not enjoyed the best of starts to his life at Santiago Bernabeu, as he is spending a brief time on the sidelines due to an injury.
However, Guler has not stopped working on his characteristics, as he looks to kickstart his Real Madrid career on a positive note.
To that end, the former Fenerbahce starlet is receiving some key support from one of Real Madrid’s midfield pillars in the form of Toni Kroos.
This is according to MARCA, which suggests that the German international is mentoring Guler in his early days at Santiago Bernabeu.
Kroos: huge ‘sponsor’ of Guler
The report highlights how Toni Kroos is a huge admirer of Arda Guler. The German had even heaped praise on the youngster from Turkey when he joined the club earlier in the summer.
Guler, therefore, is closely training with Kroos, whose years of experience, composure, and knowledge of football, could help the youngster grow at Santiago Bernabeu.
This fits in well with Carlo Ancelotti’s vision at Real Madrid, as the Italian boss wants youngsters to have room to grow, especially with guidance from some of the older guards in the team.
It is one of the key reasons Real Madrid wanted to stick to Kroos and Luka Modric, despite bringing in Arda Guler and Jude Bellingham in the summer.
Guler, therefore, has the stage set for him to start his Real Madrid career on a strong note. After impressing in training, the next step for the youngster is to make a promising debut, which is just around the corner.
