Only a few hours remain before Real Madrid lock horns with Bayern Munich in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League semi-finals at the Allianz Arena.

Ahead of the European Clasico, Bayern Munich have been dealt with a major injury blow as one of their top players appears set to miss out.

De Ligt out

Indeed, as per BILD (h/t iMiaSanMia), Bayern Munich defensive ace Matthijs de Ligt has been definitively ruled out of the game against Real Madrid.

De Ligt, who has not always had it easy under Thomas Tuchel, appeared to have suffered an injury during the Bavarian giants’ last game against Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga over the weekend.

The Netherlands defender was spotted limping after the game and did not appear confident about his chances to play against the Merengues.

Manager Tuchel himself expressed doubts about the former AFC Ajax captain’s availability for tonight.

Now, it appears that De Ligt is definitively out of the running to feature against Carlo Ancelotti’s men at the Allianz Arena.

Who will start then?

Instead, the report states that it will be Kim Min-jae, who will be pairing up with Eric Dier at the heart of the Bayern Munich defence against Real Madrid tonight.

Dier, on loan from Tottenham, has impressed in his short stint in Germany. As for Kim Min-jae, the South Korean defender has had a mixed debut campaign with the Bundesliga giants.

As such, the Bayern defence could be a weakness that the likes of Jude Bellingham, Vinicius Jr., and Rodrygo Goes could exploit tonight.

Real Madrid will sign off on their successful La Liga campaign today with a fixture against Real Betis at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The game, being seen as a final preparation for the UEFA Champions League final against Borussia Dortmund, sees manager Carlo Ancelotti field his strongest possible lineup.

All eyes will obviously be on the retiring Toni Kroos, who bids goodbye to the Bernabeu in what will be his final home game as a Real Madrid player.

The German international starts in the centre of the park alongside Federico Valverde, while Eduardo Camavinga slots in as the No. 6.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid captain, Nacho Fernandez, also starts in what could be his last game at the Bernabeu as well.

Nacho pairs up with Antonio Rudiger in defence, flanked by the full-back pairing of Dani Carvajal and Ferland Mendy. Thibaut Courtois starts in goal ahead of Andriy Lunin and Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Up front, Vinicius Jr. starts in attack, partnering up with Rodrygo Goes. Top scorer Jude Bellingham occupies the attacking midfield role for Real Madrid.
