Speaking in an interview with Ismael Mahmoud of 365 Scores (h/t MARCA), Nedal Huoseh, the agent of Bayern Munich left-back Alphonso Davies, teased the possibility of the Canadian international making the move to Real Madrid.

It is no secret that Los Blancos are planning on reinforcing their left-back position again next summer and have identified Davies as their preferred target.

The 22-year-old’s contract with Bayern Munich expires in 2025, meaning he will be entering the final year of his deal next summer, leaving the door ajar for Real Madrid to move for him.

Davies, Alaba in regular contact

It had also been reported in recent months that Real Madrid defender David Alaba had already spoken with Davies about the possibility of a transfer.

Now, the Bayern Munich speedster’s agent, Huoseh, has confirmed that the two players indeed interact on a regular basis and that the Austrian international could be keen on playing with Davies again.

“He played with Alaba for 3 years, they are friends, they talk all the time, whatever conversations they have together privately, Davies doesn’t share with me every information about it, but I’m sure David would like to play with him again. Maybe he told him,” Huoseh said.

At the same time, though, the left-back’s agent stated that his client was close friends with many other players from different clubs.

“They are friends, you know, they will talk a lot, but he is also friends with other players from other clubs, and he also knows players from other clubs in the Premier League and La Liga.”

On the interest that Davies is generating, Huoseh said: “There is interest from many teams. But in the end, we will see what happens in the next few months.

“I’m sure Real Madrid could be one of the clubs that would like to sign Davies, along with several English Premier League clubs as well, they all want to have one of the best left-backs in the world.”

Davies’ contract situation

As iterated earlier, Davies’ contract at Bayern Munich expires in 2025, and given his importance to the team, the Bundesliga champions are keen on handing him an extension.

Huoseh, during the interview, revealed that talks had taken place in the summer, but everything came to a halt due to the administration changes at Bayern as well as their pursuit of Harry Kane.

Huoseh went on to insist that Davies loved Bayern Munich and remains focused on winning the UEFA Champions League again with the club.

But as far as his future is concerned, the left-back’s agent opted to leave things open-ended, saying:

“Maybe in the next six months, we will have some talks. With Bayern, who knows what will happen? In the end, I sit and watch Alphonso Davies and what he does on the pitch, we’ll see what happens.”

“As an agent, you don’t know what is going through your player’s mind 100% of the time. In the end, you want your player to be happy, he is the one who plays. In the end, he has to make the final decision on what he wants to do.”

Shocking Modric, Vinicius, Cristiano fact makes Real Madrid fans ‘feel old’

Luka Modric is set to stay with Real Madrid for another season, meaning he will have played more seasons with Vinicius Jr. (7) than he did with Cristiano Ronaldo (6).

Feeling old yet? We thought so too!

Modric joined Real Madrid in the summer of 2012 after four seasons with Tottenham Hotspur. On the other hand, Vinicius Jr. joined Real Madrid in 2018.

By the end of the 2023/24 season, Modric and Vinicius will have spent six seasons together. This is the same number of seasons Modric played with Cristiano Ronaldo, who was at Madrid from 2009 to 2018.

However, with Modric set to stay for another season, he will surpass that, playing more seasons with Vinicius than with Ronaldo, the club’s all-time top scorer.

A new contract for Modric

It is important to note that Real Madrid and Modric have reached an agreement in principle for his contract renewal for another year.

At 38, Modric’s contract was set to expire at the end of the current season. For a while, it seemed the Croatian star might leave Santiago Bernabeu this summer.

However, things have changed recently, and Real Madrid have decided to offer him a new contract.

Interestingly, Real Madrid have also offered a renewal to Toni Kroos with club president Florentino Perez personally involved in the negotiations.

Modric and Kroos will continue

Reports suggest that Modric has agreed to the new proposal, with an agreement in principle now in place. It is also expected that Kroos will accept his offer, meaning Real Madrid will keep both veteran players for another season.

The Croatian was reportedly willing to accept a pay cut and a reduced role in the team to continue playing for Real Madrid. This flexibility may have sped up the agreement process.

His willingness to adapt to a reduced role and accept a pay cut has likely influenced the club’s decision to renew his contract for one more year.
