Brazil legend Ronaldo on Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid saga: “A soap opera that is getting very long”

Kylian Mbappe’s transfer saga to Real Madrid is once again in the headlines. Los Blancos’ ultimatum, the player’s reluctance to acknowledge or commit, and the subsequent silence have all added well to the player’s already rich soap opera that promises no end.

The Merengues are no longer as desperate to sign the Frenchman for they see other viable options in the market that could fill the void they are targeting.

Moreover, Vinicius Jr., Rodrygo, and Jude Bellingham’s success leaves them in a good spot while planning their future.

Ronaldo’s word

Real Madrid legend and two-time Ballon d’Or winner Ronaldo Nazario spoke to the media recently about the young Frenchman’s future and a possible move to Real Madrid.

Notably, he met the player himself a few days ago at an NBA game, making him a good candidate to provide an update on the situation.

“Mbappé to Real Madrid? Madrid always has the best players in the world. This is a philosophy that has been maintained for many years.

“I don’t know if he’s going to go to Real Madrid, but it’s true that he speaks almost perfect Spanish,” he said about Mbappe during the FIFA The Best Gala as revealed by El Chiringuito.

Ronaldo went on to admit that the youngster’s transfer saga, at this point, was nothing short of a soap opera with no certain course.

“I find it impressive how well he speaks. I don’t know what’s going to happen, but this is a soap opera that is already getting very long.”

Where does Mbappe currently stand

As per the latest report that came out yesterday, Mbappe has opted to leave Paris Saint-Germain. He no longer sees it viable to chase his dreams at the French club and is willing to pioneer a change in scenery.

Concurrently, however, there is no agreement with Real Madrid. Now in the final six months of his contract, he is free to talk and negotiate with Los Blancos but has not done so yet.

The coming weeks could be critical in the two parties reaching an agreement over a move in the summer. If history is anything to go by, however, nothing is reliable in Mbappe’s matter unless it is officially announced.

Real Madrid midfielder issues fitness update ahead of UCL final – ‘It is very difficult’

Real Madrid officially played their final game of the league season this past weekend and the focus now shifts to the UEFA Champions League final against Borussia Dortmund on June 1.

The Spanish champions have the glorious opportunity to secure their 15th Champions League title this on Sunday.

But heading into this clash, Real Madrid are likely to miss out on the services of one of the key players – Aurelien Tchouameni.

The Frenchman will likely be ruled out for the UCL final due to an injury incurred earlier this month.

Tchouameni on UCL final

Speaking ahead of the final, Tchouameni admitted that it would be very difficult for him to participate in the UCL final.

“I can run, I think it is very difficult to play in this final and we have more players who can be in my position. The important thing is that we are going to win this Champions League,” Tchouameni said.

The Frenchman added that he would try to help the team any way he can, stating, “If I can be the MVP from the bench, I’ll do it.”

Considered by many as the future of the Real Madrid midfield, Tchouameni has played a valuable role in the middle of the park this season.

His versatility, coupled with his ability to spread the play and put pressure on the opposition have served as key to Real Madrid’s success.

Although Tchouameni might not feature in this final, the player expressed his optimism about the Real Madrid team, adding, “I really want to play in this final, but I’m sure we will reach more finals [in coming years].”

Finally, Tchouameni expressed his happiness at Real Madrid, stating, “It’s an incredible feeling to be at Real Madrid.”

Formerly of AS Monaco, Tchouameni has featured in 88 competitive matches since joining Real Madrid in 2022. With Toni Kroos retiring, he is expected to play a crucial role for the club going forward, although not necessarily in the upcoming Champions League final.
