Speaking at a press conference ahead of his team’s match against Real Madrid, Cadiz manager Sergio Gonzalez has praised Jude Bellingham, insisting that the midfielder is showing why Los Blancos spent so heavily on him.

The 20-year-old midfielder joined Real Madrid during the summer in a deal worth €103 million plus add-ons from Borussia Dortmund.

In a short time in the Spanish capital, Bellingham has become the leading man for Real Madrid and is the current top scorer in La Liga.

Given his performances, the Englishman is perceived as the biggest threat by opposition sides, something that Sergio Gonzalez acknowledged.

“He is showing why Madrid made such a big investment in him. With goals and with play. He is being very important for them,” the Cadiz boss said, as quoted by MARCA.

Bellingham missed the last two games for Real Madrid due to a shoulder dislocation but is understood to have recovered to face Cadiz on Sunday.

Sergio also alluded to the same, saying: “He suffered a dislocated shoulder injury, but I think he’s already in top condition.”

The Cadiz manager then discussed the challenge of facing Real Madrid, who have shown the tendency to strike back hard when they appear to be on the backfoot in games.

“What worries me most is that we compete and that the best possible opponent comes along. If we are strong in the duels, they are the team that dribbles the most in the Primera División…,” he said.

“They know how to do everything. The difference is that the name can lead you astray. We’re up against Real Madrid in capital letters, and our obligation is to be what we have to be,” Sergio added.

As Real Madrid get closer and closer to their final game of the season against Borussia Dortmund in the UEFA Champions League, they are now sweating over the availability of one of their players.

It has already been confirmed that both David Alaba and Aurelien Tchouameni will miss the finals in London due to injuries.

Other than that, Carlo Ancelotti is likely to have the entirety of his squad available at his disposal, although there could be some concerns surrounding Andriy Lunin.

Lunin not in training for the third day in running

Indeed, Andriy Lunin has not participated in team training today, making it three days in a row heading into the Champions League final, reports Mundo Deportivo.

The Real Madrid goalkeeper is down with a fever that has kept him out of training for three days in a row now.

However, the report does add that despite not being in training for three days now, the Ukrainian international will fly to London and be on the squad list for the finals.

But with reports already suggesting that Thibaut Courtois will be starting in goal against Dortmund, Lunin’s continued absence from training only further strengthens the Belgian’s chances.

Kepa Arrizabalaga, who was absent from training on Tuesday due to personal reasons, is back working with the rest of the squad today. The Spaniard will have no involvement in Saturday’s final though.

Carlo Ancelotti is likely to go with the exact same starting lineup that he named for the Merengues’ final La Liga match against Real Betis.
