Como ‘determined’ to sign Real Madrid youth team gem – report
Real Madrid academy prospect Cesar Palacios could be on the move this summer, with Como manager Cesc Fabregas determined to revive a transfer that appeared to have collapsed only a few weeks ago.
According to Joel Guerrero, the Italian club has not given up on signing the talented midfielder despite already strengthening with the arrival of Mattia Liberali, who occupies a similar role.
The latest Real Madrid transfer news suggests Fabregas remains convinced Palacios can become an important part of his project and is personally pushing to complete the deal.
While Como continue their efforts, Fulham have also emerged as potential contenders, although their interest has yet to develop into formal negotiations.
Fabregas revives move for Cesar Palacios
The report states that Cesc Fabregas is prepared to do everything possible to persuade the Real Madrid Castilla midfielder to choose Como.
Earlier this summer, Palacios reached a verbal agreement with the Serie A club, and both the player and his representatives believed the transfer was close to being completed.
However, the move unexpectedly fell through before the final contracts were signed.
Now, the negotiations have been revived.
Como remain optimistic after previously receiving the player’s word and are waiting for the midfielder to communicate his final decision.
At this stage, it is important to note that the outcome remains entirely in Palacios’ hands.
Fulham yet to move despite Arbeloa’s recommendation
While Como have taken concrete steps to sign the Real Madrid youngster, Fulham are still evaluating the situation.
According to the report, the Premier League club have not yet contacted Real Madrid despite receiving a recommendation from their new manager, Alvaro Arbeloa.
Arbeloa knows Palacios better than almost anyone, having worked closely with him during his time coaching Castilla before overseeing him during first-team preparations.
The Spanish coach believes the midfielder has the qualities to succeed in English football and has encouraged Fulham to pursue a deal.
However, no official approach has been made so far, leaving Como with a clear advantage in the race.
