Kylian Mbappe’s imminent departure from Paris Saint-Germain has garnered a great deal of attention, as he will be leaving the Parisians after spending seven memorable seasons at the club.

Despite the Frenchman not yet revealing his ultimate destination, all signs point to Real Madrid as his likely landing spot.

Mbappe has kept his lips sealed regarding his next club, but an announcement is expected to come soon, particularly now that PSG’s Champions League run has ended.

It was previously reported that a reason for Mbappe’s reluctance to confirm Real Madrid as his next destination was PSG’s participation in the Champions League.

The Frenchman wanted to avoid drawing attention to himself in the event of a potential clash against Real Madrid.

Farewell ceremony will be this Sunday

Now, L’Equipe (h/t Madrid Zone) have come out to report that Kylian Mbappe’s farewell ceremony at PSG is set to be this Sunday at the Parc des Princes.

PSG are scheduled to play Toulouse on Sunday night at their home ground – their last at Parc des Princes this season and it is when the Frenchman will say goodbye to the club faithful.

The ceremony signifies that the 2018 World Cup winner is set to part ways with PSG, leading to heightened expectations that his next chapter will unfold at the Santiago Bernabeu.

However, PSG still have a few games remaining in Ligue 1 and also go on to play the French Cup final at the end of this month, which might cause some additional delays.

Real Madrid preparing for grand announcement

Meanwhile, reports have mentioned that to officially announce Kylian Mbappe’s signing, Real Madrid are getting ready to make a very spectacular statement.

The plan is to announce the signing of the star forward before he leaves to join the French national team for UEFA Euro 2024.

With Real Madrid’s spot in the Champions League final confirmed the possibility of winning the title and then welcoming Mbappe soon after would be a true statement of their ambitions.

Real Madrid are just days away from their highly anticipated Champions League final showdown against Borussia Dortmund.

Once the final has been played, planning for the summer transfer window will be in full swing, with the topic of arrivals and departures likely to be discussed.

One of the players facing an uncertain future is Nacho Fernandez. The Real Madrid captain has yet to disclose his future ambitions, despite nearing the end of his contract.

Nacho opens up about future

While he previously claimed that he had already made his decision, a shift in tone can be observed now, with Nacho asserting that he will soon sit with the club and his family to evaluate the best course of action

For now, the 34-year-old remains focused on the Champions League final and does not wish to draw any unnecessary attention.

“Future? The focus is on the final now. After that, I will sit with the club, Ancelotti and my family and I’ll decide what’s the best thing for me,” he told El Chiringuito.

Fernandez acknowledges the fans’ support

Additionally, the veteran centre-back claimed that he does need a grand farewell to know how much the Madrid faithful appreciate him.

“That love the fans have for Toni is the same they have for me. I don’t need a farewell to know the fans love me,” he reflected.

Nacho has devoted his entire career to Real Madrid, rising through the ranks from the youth academy and spending over two decades with the Merengues.

However, he has alluded to the possibility of perhaps donning the colours of a different jersey.

“Sometimes the circumstances are not right to be a ‘one club man’,” he cryptically claimed.
