Eduardo Camavinga has become a sensation at Real Madrid, now more than ever as the club continue to build a foundational core around young players such as him, Jude Bellingham and Aurelien Tchouameni, among others.

With 31 competitive appearances, Camavinga has been an ever-present figure in Real Madrid’s midfield unit, playing a key role in the number six role.

Camavinga’s athleticism and work ethic in the middle of the park has helped Real Madrid solidify their position at the top of the league table.

Camavinga himself appears to be enjoying his time at Santiago Bernabeu and has no plans to leave the club in the near future.

In fact, the French international has expressed his desire to retire at Real Madrid and hailing the club as his ‘dream place’.

“Real Madrid is the dream of the whole world as a club. Can I retire here at Real? Yes, of course,” Camavinga told Telefoot (h/t Fabrizio Romano).

Real Madrid are no stranger when it comes to housing legendary midfielders. The club have been the home of arguably the greatest midfield duo in the last century, in the form of Toni Kroos and Luka Modric.

Both players could have easily retired at Santiago Bernabeu had it not been for modern-day disruptive forces in the world of football, including the proliferation of Saudi Arabia clubs that are willing to offer lucrative contracts to veteran footballing stars.

Camavinga is keen on following in the footsteps of both Kroos and Modric. At just 21, the Frenchman has already racked up 130 competitive appearances for Los Blancos.

The former Rennes starlet also has a contract at Real Madrid until 2029. He will turn 26 by the time his contract at the Bernabeu comes to an end. Given the way the player has performed, though, the club are more than likely to hand him a contract extension way sooner.

Speaking in an interview with Sport BILD (h/t AS), Germany legend Michael Ballack has claimed that Bayer Leverkusen sensation Florian Wirtz is ready to play for Real Madrid.

Wirtz is a player that Real Madrid have been closely monitoring for a while now, with the German sensation being seen as a long-term replacement for Toni Kroos, who announced his retirement yesterday.

A move for Wirtz is being planned for the summer of 2025 and Ballack believes that the Bundesliga title winner with Leverkusen is ready for the big move to the Santiago Bernabeu.

“Wirtz is ready for Real Madrid,” said Ballack.

“In terms of football, Wirtz can definitely play for Real Madrid. You can also see it in Jude Bellingham after his move from BVB: when you play with even better players, you become even better,” he added.

Wirtz has a contract with Bayer Leverkusen that runs until the summer of 2027. As things stand, the new German champions have no intentions of selling their prized asset this year.

However, there appears to be an acceptance that the German international will be on the move in 2025.

Other top clubs like Manchester City and Bayern Munich are also understood to be interested, but Real Madrid are likely to beat them in the race should it come down to that next year.

A move for Wirtz, though, could cost in excess of €100 million for Real Madrid should they do indeed decide to proceed with his signing next year.
