€100m-rated Real Madrid midfielder will not leave amid Chelsea, Liverpool links

Earlier this week, reports broke that Real Madrid considered selling a major midfield star to finance Kylian Mbappe’s impending arrival. With the manager having one too many resources in the middle of the park, it was the obvious department to look for surplus players.
It was clearly not easy to choose an underperforming candidate from Real Madrid’s mix of players, for they are all stars in their own right. In the end, however, one of Aurelien Tchouameni or Federico Valverde appeared to be the ones elected as scapegoats.
90min brings an update on the situation of the latter and the Merengues‘ stance on his situation.
The report states that Los Blancos see Valverde, whose market value stands at €100 million, to be an irreplaceable member of the squad with Carlo Ancelotti completely trusting in his abilities. After all, the Uruguayan has enjoyed two brilliant seasons under the Italian.
His contract with the club until 2027 and a €1 billion release clause safely nestle his future in Madrid. After all, the player does not wish to move out of the Spanish capital for both sporting and personal reasons.
Liverpool, Chelsea, and Manchester City are just some of the numerous clubs that have tried to make a move for the versatile midfielder. However, the response they received was a resounding no, just as in the case of Bayern Munich and PSG’s attempts to lure the player away.
The 24-year-old sees himself as a future captain of Real Madrid and wishes to stay put at the Santiago Bernabeu for as long as he can.
He will indeed face more competition after the arrivals of Jude Bellingham and Arda Guler, but Ancelotti already appears to have found a working solution.
Come August, Valverde could feature more as a right-winger as opposed to his traditional role in midfield. It is a formula the manager extensively employed last season and one that would help Los Blancos combat their deficiency of forwards.

French midfielder admits considering PSG move before Real Madrid called him

Aurelien Tchouameni has had an exciting start to his career at Real Madrid. Since joining the club for almost €80 million last summer, the young Frenchman has now become a pivotal figure in Real Madrid’s midfield unit.
However, prior to his move to Santiago Bernabeu, the midfielder was closely linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain.
In a recent interview, Tchouameni opened up on his links to PSG but revealed his decision to join Real Madrid.
Aurelien Tchouameni on PSG links
Talking about speculations linking him to PSG, Tchouameni said (h/t Madrid Zone), “PSG? Frankly, I thought about it. It’s a very big European club, we want the French clubs to succeed.”
“But honestly, when Real Madrid calls you, it’s very complicated to say no,” Tchouameni added.

The midfielder was linked with a move to PSG during his time at AS Monaco. Les Parisiens wanted to sign the youngster as part of their plans to reinforce the midfield unit.
Tchouameni, though, ended up opting for a move to Real Madrid, which turned out to be a prudent decision from the midfielder’s end.
Tchouameni’s career at Real Madrid
Aurelien Tchouameni made a total of 50 competitive appearances during his maiden season at Real Madrid.
Although the Frenchman was not entirely a first-team regular in Carlo Ancelotti’s setup, his stature in the team is expected to grow in the coming years.
Especially as Toni Kroos and Luka Modric move on at the end of the season, there is scope for Tchouameni to become a first-team regular in the Real Madrid midfield in the years to come.
The former AS Monaco starlet has already played a crucial role in the starting eleven so far this season and it is only going to continue as the season progresses.
