€150 million-rated Real Madrid target keen on Liverpool move – English sources
Real Madrid’s plans for next season and the years to come centre around Jude Bellingham. The English ace is one of the few players the Merengues have openly pursued with such zest in recent times, and their desperation is understandable.
Having no assurance over the continuity and longevity of Luka Modric and Toni Kroos, the European champions need a new name to reinforce the middle of the park for next season. In that respect, the Borussia Dortmund midfielder stands out as a complete package.
According to reports from Paul Joyce of The Times, however, Bellingham is keen on a move to Liverpool despite the interest from Real Madrid.
Jurgen Klopp’s men have been one of the top sides pursuing the midfielder’s signature for a long time now. However, they were said to be trailing Los Blancos as a secondary option for a significant time, as it was reported that Bellingham wished for a move to Spain.
The turnaround in the situation now could be down to the influence of the youngster’s family and the sentimental value of a return to England.
Despite the report, such statements have barely borne any weightage in the past. The race for Bellingham has been an open one from the very start, and sudden changes in tide are a part of the negotiations. As is the case in football, it is never over until the papers are signed.
Yet, the report comes as a wake-up call to all those who considered Bellingham’s move a certainty. Real Madrid will now look out for a plan B and could reactivate the option of Gabri Veiga.
Bellingham’s final call is expected as early as the second week of April and it is clear that a lot of decisions in the Spanish capital will depend on it.

Brazil not giving up on pursuit of Ancelotti: “Haven’t thrown in the towel yet”
Speaking to the media, Brazil Football Confederations (CBF) president Ednaldo Rodrigues has claimed that the Selecao have not given up on their pursuit of Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti, despite the Italian stating that he will not leave the club.
Brazil have been without a manager since the World Cup in Qatar last year, following which Tite stepped down. The CBF have made Ancelotti their top target and have been pursuing his signing for months but to no avail.
The 63-year-old Italian tactician has, on more than one occasion, made it clear that he will be at Real Madrid next season, with his contract expiring in 2024.
However, CBF president Rodrigues is adamant that Ancelotti’s statements are due to him being cautious as he is under contract at Real Madrid and that the Selecao are not prepared to give up on their quest to appoint him as of yet.
“We made a plan, that ‘Plan A’ is the one you know, Ancelotti, and as they say in the ‘ring’ (boxing), I haven’t thrown in the towel yet,” Rodrigues said (h/t Mundo Deportivo).
“Because of contracts, people are cautious,” he added.
Ancelotti, for his part, has repeatedly stated that he does not intend to leave Real Madrid unless he is forced out of the club.
Despite missing out on the La Liga and the UEFA Champions League titles last season, the club continue to back the veteran Italian and are planning for next season with him in charge.
So, despite Rodrigues’ confidence and perseverance, it is extremely unlikely that Ancelotti will be leaving Real Madrid for Brazil this summer.
