Despite signing Joselu this summer, Real Madrid appear particularly weak in the centre-forward department.

Karim Benzema’s departure left the club in a spot of bother, and Kylian Mbappe’s decision to stay at PSG does not help.

Earlier this week, Real Madrid were offered the chance to sign Eintracht Frankfurt star Randal Kolo Muani.

The Frenchman who became famous for his last-minute chance to win France the World Cup is ready to take the next big step in his career and was linked with the Merengues.

According to reports from Foot Mercato, however, the player has reached a total agreement with PSG. The player appears set to sign for the Parisian outfit on a five-year deal.

One of Bundesliga’s rising stars

Kolo Muani was been stellar for Eintracht Frankfurt last season. The 24-year-old recorded 40 goal involvements in his first year at the German club including a staggering 15 goals and 11 assists in Bundesliga alone.

He is best placed as a striker and is known for his instinct in front of goal. Moreover, his dominant physique gives him a strong presence in the box while his pace makes him ideal for a club like Real Madrid.

As such, Kolo Muani, whose market value stands at €80 million, was understood to have been offered to Real Madrid.

But with no movement taking place, he is now on his way to sign for PSG.

Real Madrid’s squad closed for the summer

Earlier this week, reports brought out that Los Blancos do not contemplate any changes to their squad now. The Merengues have completed the expected business in terms of arrivals and departures and the manager is satisfied with his resources.

Ancelotti will thus rely on Joselu as his only central forward this season. Moreover, his new 4-4-2 diamond setup forces Vinicius Jr and Rodrygo Goes to play more centrally and effectively serve as finishers.

All eyes will thus be on Mbappe next summer. Real Madrid’s decision to reject players like Harry Kane and Kolo Muani speaks volumes about their hopes for Mbappe. It would thus be a big blow to Real Madrid if he renews with PSG.

Aurelien Tchouameni has had an exciting start to his career at Real Madrid. Since joining the club for almost €80 million last summer, the young Frenchman has now become a pivotal figure in Real Madrid’s midfield unit.

However, prior to his move to Santiago Bernabeu, the midfielder was closely linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain.

In a recent interview, Tchouameni opened up on his links to PSG but revealed his decision to join Real Madrid.

Talking about speculations linking him to PSG, Tchouameni said (h/t Madrid Zone), “PSG? Frankly, I thought about it. It’s a very big European club, we want the French clubs to succeed.”

“But honestly, when Real Madrid calls you, it’s very complicated to say no,” Tchouameni added.

The midfielder was linked with a move to PSG during his time at AS Monaco. Les Parisiens wanted to sign the youngster as part of their plans to reinforce the midfield unit.

Tchouameni, though, ended up opting for a move to Real Madrid, which turned out to be a prudent decision from the midfielder’s end.

Tchouameni’s career at Real Madrid

Aurelien Tchouameni made a total of 50 competitive appearances during his maiden season at Real Madrid.

Although the Frenchman was not entirely a first-team regular in Carlo Ancelotti’s setup, his stature in the team is expected to grow in the coming years.

Especially as Toni Kroos and Luka Modric move on at the end of the season, there is scope for Tchouameni to become a first-team regular in the Real Madrid midfield in the years to come.

The former AS Monaco starlet has already played a crucial role in the starting eleven so far this season and it is only going to continue as the season progresses.
