Five players with most titles won in Real Madrid history
Luka Modric played his last game at the Santiago Bernabeu on an emotional night, marking the end of an incredible chapter in his career.
The 2024/25 season may not have gone exactly how he hoped, but the Croatian legend still managed to lift two more trophies – the UEFA Super Cup and the Intercontinental Cup.
After 13 years at Real Madrid, Modric walks away as one of the most decorated players in the club’s long and successful history. From his arrival in 2012 to his final match in 2025, Modric gave everything for the badge and won every title possible at club level.
So where does Modric stand among Real Madrid’s all-time most successful players? Let’s take a look at the top five players with the most titles in the club’s history.
Luka Modric – 28 Titles
Modric leaves behind a record that speaks for itself. The midfield maestro made 590 appearances and scored 43 goals for Real Madrid. He won a total of 28 titles in his time with Los Blancos. That includes:
6 Champions League trophies, 4 La Liga titles, 2 Copa del Rey (Spanish Cup) victories, 5 Club World Cups, 1 Intercontinental Cup, 5 UEFA Super Cups, 5 Spanish Super Cups.
But Modric’s influence goes far beyond numbers. In 2018, he became the first player to break the Messi-Ronaldo dominance in the Ballon d’Or race, winning the award after a brilliant year with club and country.
Dani Carvajal – 27 Titles
Another club icon, Dani Carvajal, is not far behind Modric. The right-back has played a crucial role in Real Madrid’s success, especially in big European games.
After a season in Germany with Bayer Leverkusen, Carvajal returned to Madrid and has since collected 6 Champions Leagues, 4 La Liga titles, 2 Spanish Cups, 5 Club World Cups, 1 Intercontinental Cup, 5 UEFA Super Cups, 4 Spanish Super Cups.
Nacho Fernandez – 26 Titles
Nacho’s journey is one of loyalty and quiet consistency. A product of the youth academy, he served the club for over two decades. He played in all defensive roles and always delivered when called upon.

Marcelo and Karim Benzema – 25 Titles each
Marcelo, who joined Real Madrid in 2006, became one of the best left-backs in football history. Known for his flair and creativity, he collected 25 trophies, including 5 Champions League titles and 6 La Liga crowns.
Benzema also ended his time at the club with the same number of titles and was one of the most important strikers in Madrid’s modern era.
He won 5 UEFA Champions League, 4 La Liga titles, 5 Club World Cup, 4 UEFA Super Cups, 3 Copa del Rey and 4 Spanish Super Cup.
Paco Gento – 23 Titles
Before this modern era, Paco Gento held the record for most trophies at the club. Playing from the 1950s to 1970, Gento was a left-winger who terrorised defences for nearly two decades.
His honours include: 6 European Cups, 12 La Liga titles, 2 Spanish Cups, 1 Intercontinental Cup and 2 Latin American Cups
Real Madrid are back in action in La Liga tonight as they take on Rayo Vallecano at the Santiago Bernabeu as part of Matchday 5.
Having won their first three league games of the 2026/27 season under new manager Jose Mourinho, Los Blancos fell to their first defeat last weekend, losing 1-0 away to Real Betis.
It has allowed arch-rivals FC Barcelona pull away and open up a three-point lead at the top of the table.
While these are still early days in the campaign, Real Madrid know they cannot afford any more slip-ups, especially considering the red-hot form the Blaugrana are in.
Mourinho’s men did bounce back to winning ways after last week’s defeat, beating Inter Milan 2-1 in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday night, although the performance was not entirely convincing.
As they take the field once more tonight at the Santiago Bernabeu, Real Madrid will hope to deliver a strong performance and gather all three points and keep up the pace with the league leaders.
Mourinho has been boosted by the return of five players in Arda Guler, Eduardo Camavinga, Bernardo Silva, Raul Asencio, and Andriy Lunin, who missed the midweek European encounter.

Defence
Thibaut Courtois was the star of the show for Real Madrid against Inter Milan, making some splendid saves. He will once again hold the key for the hosts as they look for only their second clean sheet of the season.
In defence, changes are unlikely, with Mourinho clearly establishing Ibrahima Konate and Dean Huijsen as his preferred partnership at centre-back, meaning Antonio Rudiger is set to miss out again.
Denzel Dumfries and Marc Cucurella, both of whom have made solid starts to life at the Bernabeu, ought to continue in the full-back positions.
Midfield
Given the absences of some key players, Mourinho was forced to play Trent Alexander-Arnold in the double pivot against Inter Milan – an experiment that was far from convincing.
Now, with the Real Madrid manager recovering his options in midfield, it is expected that summer signing Bernardo Silva starts alongside captain Federico Valverde in the centre of the park.
Eduardo Camavinga, who is also back after serving a suspension, will be an option from the bench, along with Aurelien Tchouameni, who is being eased back slowly after his return from injury.
Jude Bellingham has been one of Real Madrid’s best players in the early parts of the season and will continue in his preferred attacking midfield position against Rayo Vallecano tonight.
Attack
Brahim Diaz got the nod against Inter Milan and gave a good account of himself. However, with Arda Guler back and available after missing the midweek game, the Turkish international should reclaim his spot on the right flank.
On the left wing, Vinicius Jr. will retain his place, but will need to step up and deliver amid growing pressure and frustration within the fans, who booed him at the Bernabeu on Tuesday.
Finally, Kylian Mbappe, who has been in the news for his candid interview, will spearhead the Real Madrid attack.
Summer signing Yan Diomande will once again have to make do with minutes off the bench.
