Former Barcelona president lashes out at Real Madrid – ‘Don’t you think that’s disgraceful?’
The Negreira scandal has not painted a pretty picture of FC Barcelona in the global footballing community, and it is clear that the payments made directly to the former vice-president of the Technical Committee of Referees show them to be guilty.
For long, the Catalans have claimed that the payments were for refereeing reports. Judicial progress so far, however, guides good reason to doubt the legitimacy of that claim.
Real Madrid and Florentino Perez, for their part, have taken a strong position against the said corruption and have been spearheading the attacks on Barcelona. Needless to say, the entire saga has led to relations between the clubs reaching an all time low.
Barcelona president’s allegations
Speaking to El Partidazo de COPE in a recent interview, former Barcelona president and current presidential pre-candidate Joan Laporta delivered a scathing statement on Real Madrid with allegations of long-term favours from match officials.
“You don’t think it’s disgraceful that for 72 years the Technical Committee of Referees has been chaired by former members, former executives or former players of Real Madrid,” he began.
“Don’t you think that’s disgraceful? You think it’s the most normal thing in the world.”
Continuing, he added: “What are you saying? That what Barça does is undignified and what Madrid does with that is not undignified?”

He then explained the ‘Negreira scandal’ from his perspective and went on to point out how Barcelona had to pay for refereeing reports that Real Madrid never required or even had to request.
“What we did, was simply pay for scouting reports and referee advice, it wasn’t corruption.”
“Compare that to everything we had to go through with Real Madrid, ever since I was 5, Real Madrid always dominated in this,” Laporta added.
Speaking on how and why Los Blancos did not require the said reports from his perspective, the former Barcelona president said,
“Maybe they didn’t need to do the referee advice services we did with Negreira, because they had everything ready and done and free already.”
“So Barca had to pay to get what Madrid were getting for free? I’m saying Barca had to pay to get referee advice and scouting. While Madrid were in charge of everything. Seriously, do you not know who Madrid are?,” he concluded.

Mourinho rules out January loan exit for fringe youngster after Real Madrid heroics: ‘Mark my words again…’
Jose Mourinho has made his position on Endrick’s future at Real Madrid clear, insisting that the Brazilian forward will not be allowed to leave on loan in January despite his limited playing time this season.
The 20-year-old delivered a decisive performance in Real Madrid’s dramatic 4-3 Champions League victory over AS Roma, helping turn a 1-3 deficit into a remarkable late win.
Despite playing for only around 30 minutes, Endrick was named Player of the Match after scoring the equaliser and contributing to the attacking surge that completed the comeback.
His display has reignited discussion about his role under Mourinho, but the Madrid manager appears determined to keep the young forward at the club.
Mourinho sends message on Endrick’s Real Madrid future
Endrick started the Roma match on the bench but entered the contest around the hour mark as Real Madrid searched for a way back into the game.
He made a quick impact, providing the physical presence and attacking threat the team needed during the closing stages.

His equaliser came five minutes from time, helping Madrid draw level before Antonio Rudiger completed the turnaround.
After the match, Mourinho was asked about the possibility of the Brazilian leaving during the January transfer window. His response left little room for speculation.
“Mark my words again, it is impossible for Endrick to be loaned out,” said the manager, as per Fabrizio Romano.
Endrick’s limited minutes fuel loan speculation
Endrick’s lack of involvement has become a concern, as he has played just 35 minutes across two appearances in Real Madrid’s first 10 official matches of the season.
That limited exposure has naturally raised questions about how the Brazilian can continue developing without regular competitive football.
A loan move could offer more minutes, but Mourinho’s comments indicate that Madrid are not currently prepared to consider that route.

Endrick’s performance in Rome has also strengthened his argument for greater involvement.
Notably, though, one impressive appearance does not automatically guarantee a starting place, and Endrick will need to turn opportunities off the bench into consistent performances if he is to secure a larger role.
Roma among clubs linked with Endrick as Madrid stand firm
Interestingly, Roma are among several clubs interested in Endrick, making Mourinho’s position particularly significant given their recent meeting with Real Madrid.
The Italian side and other potential suitors may have to reconsider their plans if Real Madrid continue to insist that the forward is staying.
For now, the club’s priority appears to be retaining Endrick and finding ways to integrate him more regularly into the first team.
His late impact against Roma has given Mourinho another reason to trust him, but the challenge will be ensuring that the Brazilian receives enough opportunities to build on that performance.
