France midfielder Adrien Rabiot is currently without a contract after leaving Juventus. At 29 years old, he has been linked with several top clubs, and now, he is particularly interested in joining Real Madrid.

In that context, according to a report from Mundo Deportivo, Rabiot is waiting for an offer from the Spanish giants.

Italian media has echoed this sentiment, indicating that the midfielder has set his sights on Real Madrid, provided they extend an offer.

Despite other big clubs like Liverpool and Newcastle showing interest in him, Rabiot is prioritising Real Madrid above all.

These Premier League teams are closely monitoring the situation, ready to make a move if the opportunity arises. But for now, the French international’s focus remains firmly on a potential future at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Real Madrid links are not new

It is to be noted that Real Madrid’s interest in Rabiot isn’t new. Just a few weeks ago, there were discussions about the club considering him as a potential signing

However, the club’s stance on this has not changed much. Currently, signing a new midfielder is not at the top of their list of priorities. They are only interested in players who are either available for free or come at a low cost.

The departure of Toni Kroos from Real Madrid has not triggered an urgent search for a replacement and the team seems content with its current roster, and any new additions would be considered only if they present significant value.

Things might change at Real Madrid

However, the possible exit of Dani Ceballos might change things. If the Spaniard leaves, Real Madrid may need to look for new midfield options to maintain their squad depth. In this scenario, Rabiot becomes a viable option.

Rabiot’s skill and experience make him an attractive candidate for Real Madrid. His ability to control the midfield and his experience in top-tier football could provide the stability and creativity that the team needs.

His career has seen him play for major clubs, and his international experience with the French national team further adds to his credentials.

Should Real Madrid decide to move forward with an offer, it would mark a significant step in Rabiot’s career. Joining one of the world’s most prestigious clubs would be a major milestone for the French midfielder.

Real Madrid are in active negotiations with LOSC Lille for the transfer of Leny Yoro. After weeks of impasse, the club appear to have made some ground in the race to sign the Frenchman.

However, should the Yoro deal fall through in the coming weeks, Real Madrid have identified Lazio’s Mario Gila as the ideal alternative.

Formerly of RM Castilla, Gila currently plies his trade for Lazio and has emerged as a key defensive lynchpin for the Italian outfit, impressing onlookers with his technique and discipline.

Mario Gila picks up fresh injury

However, in a major development, it appears Mario Gila has picked up a fresh injury during training, reports Diario AS.

In the pre-season camp at Auronzo di Cadore, Gila appears to have fractured his left foot and could be out for several weeks.

Lazio confirmed the defender’s injury, stating, “Mario Gila underwent clinical and instrumental examinations which revealed a fracture of the phalanx of the big toe of his left foot, suffered during training.”

Gila has started taking the appropriate treatment and the extent of his injury will be known soon. However, as things stand, the defender could be out for at least the next few weeks.

What does this mean for Real Madrid?

Mario Gila’s fresh injury setback is sure to dwindle any hopes of a potential return to Real Madrid this summer.

In any case, Gila’s chances of returning to Santiago Bernabeu were slim given that Real Madrid have finally made some ground in the deal to sign top defensive target Leny Yoro.

Los Blancos, though, would have liked having someone like Gila available as an alternative, especially with LOSC Lille still demanding a fortune for the Frenchman.

Unfortunately, that might not be an option anymore, no thanks to Gila’s injury. The club, though, will keep a close eye on the Spaniard’s injury situation, knowing he could return to fitness before the end of the summer break.
