‘Future won’t be here’: PSG manager and president comment on Kylian Mbappe

Kylian Mbappe’s move to Real Madrid is all but complete, with several sources and even PSG manager Luis Enrique openly admitting to the fact.

The Frenchman will leave Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the season as a free agent, dealing the Ligue 1 giants a massive blow.

While his exit is imminent, Mbappe is still an integral part of Luis Enrique’s side in their ongoing season.

Last night, he was the lone shining star for his side in the UEFA Champions League and guaranteed them a place in the quarterfinals with his man-of-the-match display.

The manager speaks about Mbappe

PSG’s clash against Real Sociedad was an intriguing one to follow as it was a fixture that pitted the top-be Real Madrid star with one of La Liga’s top teams ahead of his move to Spain. It is safe to say that the youngster passed the test with flying colours.

In 90 minutes last night, Mbappe scored two goals, had three shots on target, provided two key passes and completed four dribbles against La Real.

Speaking to the media after the game, PSG manager Luis Enrique once again openly admitted to Mbappé’s imminent exit as revealed by Canal+.

“Apparently his immediate future will not be here, so we will have to test with other teammates.”

The president speaks

Enrique was not the only PSG heavyweight to comment on the 25-year-old’s future after the game last night, for club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi was also asked to comment on the same.

While he refused to confirm the departure, he only spoke of the player’s future with no hint towards continuing together.

“If the club hasn’t communicated, we’re not going to communicate. There’s something between us today. Kylian is with the club, working with the club. He has a contract with us today, but it’s clear that we’re building something for the future too,” he said, as revealed by Fabrizio Romano.

It just might be possible that PSG could be better without Kylian. With all that extra money, they could get a whole team of top class players.

Just in: Real Madrid’s defensive target picks up fresh injury

Real Madrid are in active negotiations with LOSC Lille for the transfer of Leny Yoro. After weeks of impasse, the club appear to have made some ground in the race to sign the Frenchman.

However, should the Yoro deal fall through in the coming weeks, Real Madrid have identified Lazio’s Mario Gila as the ideal alternative.

Formerly of RM Castilla, Gila currently plies his trade for Lazio and has emerged as a key defensive lynchpin for the Italian outfit, impressing onlookers with his technique and discipline.

Mario Gila picks up fresh injury

However, in a major development, it appears Mario Gila has picked up a fresh injury during training, reports Diario AS.

In the pre-season camp at Auronzo di Cadore, Gila appears to have fractured his left foot and could be out for several weeks.

Lazio confirmed the defender’s injury, stating, “Mario Gila underwent clinical and instrumental examinations which revealed a fracture of the phalanx of the big toe of his left foot, suffered during training.”

Gila has started taking the appropriate treatment and the extent of his injury will be known soon. However, as things stand, the defender could be out for at least the next few weeks.

What does this mean for Real Madrid?

Mario Gila’s fresh injury setback is sure to dwindle any hopes of a potential return to Real Madrid this summer.

In any case, Gila’s chances of returning to Santiago Bernabeu were slim given that Real Madrid have finally made some ground in the deal to sign top defensive target Leny Yoro.

Los Blancos, though, would have liked having someone like Gila available as an alternative, especially with LOSC Lille still demanding a fortune for the Frenchman.

Unfortunately, that might not be an option anymore, no thanks to Gila’s injury. The club, though, will keep a close eye on the Spaniard’s injury situation, knowing he could return to fitness before the end of the summer break.
