Haaland unwilling to reveal injury details amidst Real Madrid, Man City interest

Erling Haaland is the talk of the town heading into the summer transfer window. The Borussia Dortmund striker is being pursued by the who’s who of European football, including Real Madrid and Manchester City.
The 21-year-old has been a prolific goalscorer for Dortmund since joining in January 2020. To date, he has plundered 80 goals and assisted 22 more from 84 matches so far.
However, the ongoing campaign has been riddled with injuries for Haaland. So far in 2021/22, the Norwegian international 17 games in all competitions due to different injury problems, which has become a bit of a concern for Dortmund as well as his suitors, reports SPORT1.
Recently, Haaland was at the receiving end of a rough challenge while on international duty with Norway against Armenia in late March. The player who tackled the striker had to be stretchered off while the Dortmund star was believed to have picked up an ankle injury.
But he has not missed a game for the Black and Yellows since, although manager Marco Rose has insisted that his ace goalscorer is not pain-free. The Dortmund boss also, surprisingly, claimed that the 21-year-old was refusing to get the injury investigated.
The report adds that this is not the first time such an incident has occurred. Late in January, Haaland had suffered a minor injury, the details of which he and his camp wanted to be kept private without being made public.
And, now his refusal to get his injury diagnosed and make the results public is leading to speculations that the striker does not wish to derail the chances of a mega-money switch in the summer.
Considering the huge sums that would be involved in his transfer, suitors like Manchester City, Real Madrid or PSG would have some apprehensions over the move if it was to emerge that Haaland is a player very susceptible to injuries.
However, by not taking the required measures and keeping any injury issues a secret, the ex-RB Salzburg ace could risk exacerbating his situation further, which could end up having long-term effects on his career.

Real Madrid want to bring radical changes in Spanish refereeing system – report

Jose Felix Diaz has reported via MARCA that Real Madrid want a major change in the Spanish refereeing system.
The reporter writes that the team from the Spanish capital has taken the issue as their top priority mostly because of what happened in the recent derby defeat against Atletico Madrid.
Los Blancos are determined to relentlessly steer a significant overhaul of the refereeing structure, and they have no intention of resting in their pursuit.
Their discontent comes not only from recent events, particularly the contentious derby match but also from a deep-seated frustration with the state of refereeing itself.
Real Madrid not hiding their discontent
The journalist mentions that Real Madrid are unapologetic about their continuous criticism of the refereeing community, firmly believing that a transformation is of utmost importance.
Even prior to the emergence of the Negreira case, the Merengues had been vocal about their dissatisfaction with those responsible for overseeing the refereeing unit.
For what it is worth, the revelation of the former vice president of the CTA’s financial ties to Barcelona only solidified Real Madrid’s resolve to advocate for a complete overhaul in referee management.

Real Madrid are suspicious
Real Madrid firmly assert that any influence from Negreira’s historical decisions in certain key positions raises suspicions about the fairness of the competition.
For that, the management will do everything in its power to achieve a certain level of transparency within the organization that it believes is currently overshadowed by historical baggage.
As of today, Real Madrid continue to voice their concerns through their official channels.
Right now their ultimate goal is to eliminate the involvement of Clos Gomez in VAR decisions, marking the beginning of a long-standing battle they are fighting.
