Inter Milan emerge as a potential summer destination for Real Madrid flop

When Eden Hazard completed his mega-money move to Real Madrid from Chelsea in 2019, it was seen as a huge coup. After all, the Belgian wing-wizard was one of the best in the game at the time and had just helped the Blues win the UEFA Europa League.
However, in the three years that he has been at the Santiago Bernabeu, Madridistas have never been able to get a glimpse of the man who defences used to fear coming up against.
Instead, Hazard has looked a pale shadow of his past best, struggling with injuries and fitness problems, failing to live up to the expectations.
Having fallen way down the pecking order at Real Madrid this season, the 31-year-old has played just three times in La Liga. And an exit in the near future is certainly on the horizon for the winger, who recently announced his retirement from international football.
And as per reports relayed by Mundo Deportivo, Italian giants Inter Milan would be willing to offer Hazard an escape route from Real Madrid in the summer of 2023.
The Nerazzurri are reportedly looking to add more firepower to their wide areas after having lost Ivan Perisic to Tottenham Hotspur this past summer. And they believe Hazard could be a viable signing to fill that void.
The 31-year-old, prior to Belgium’s exit from the FIFA World Cup 2022, had confirmed in an interview that he would leave Real Madrid if the club wanted him to. And a move to the MLS has emerged as a possibility for the veteran winger.
However, a chance to stay in Europe and continue playing at the top level with a team like Inter Milan could appeal to the former Chelsea ace.
Real Madrid, for their part, are willing to do anything to help Hazard find a new destination next year even though his contract runs until the summer of 2024. With Inter Milan now emerging as a possible destination for the 31-year-old, whether a move materialises will be interesting to see.

51-year-old manager the ‘clear favourite’ to succeed Ancelotti at Real Madrid – report

With there being uncertainty surrounding the future of Carlo Ancelotti at Real Madrid, it seems like Los Blancos have identified the ideal candidate to succeed the Italian if he leaves.
Indeed, according to TyC Sports in Argentina, former PSG and Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino is the clear favourite to replace Ancelotti once he moves on from Real Madrid.
The 51-year-old tactician is currently unattached after having been let go of by PSG last summer. And, he could now make a sensational return to management with Real Madrid.
Ancelotti has a contract with the Merengues until the summer of 2024. But, his future is not entirely secure at this point as the current champions of Spain and Europe are losing the La Liga title race to Barcelona while they are also hanging by a thread in Copa del Rey.
Unless the 63-year-old leads Real Madrid to a major trophy this term, an exit could be on the cards. And, the Brazilian national team are lying in wait to swoop him away if such a scenario materialises.
Several names such as Raul Gonzalez, Zinedine Zidane, Julian Nagelsmann, and Xabi Alonso have been linked with the Real Madrid job if Ancelotti leaves.
But, now it is being claimed that Pochettino has emerged as the frontrunner to take over from the Italian tactician. The 51-year-old is understood to be president Florentino Perez’s most favourite candidate and is seen as a perfect fit at Real Madrid.
Pochettino had the chance of taking over at Real Madrid in the past but could not secure a release from Tottenham. Now, though, he is unattached and has reportedly even rejected a chance to rejoin Spurs as he is ready to wait until the summer for Real Madrid.
The report also suggests that Pochettino has previously rejected the likes of Ajax, Chelsea, Belgium national team and Brazil as well as he continues to wait for an approach from Los Blancos at the end of the season.
