Joselu, Fran Garcia react after Real Madrid beat Celta Vigo: “Team’s confidence is maximum”

Real Madrid now sit atop the La Liga standings following their narrow victory over Celta Vigo. With three wins in three league outings, they are clearly the most in-form team in Spain.
What makes the number more appealing is the fact that all of Los Blancos’ games so far have come on the road. Heading back to Santiago Bernabeu after the 1-0 win over Celta Vigo, there are many positives for the men in white to take home.
Joselu happy with the win
Joselu came on after Vinicius Jr’s injury early in the game and provided the match-winning assist last night. He spoke to the media after the game and stressed the tough fight put up by the Galician opposition.
“We know that any match in the First Division is complicated. Celta made it very difficult for us, it has high-quality players. We have been patient and we have been able to wait for our moment,” he said.
“We missed a penalty, but we took advantage of the dead ball situation. Happy to be participating more with the team and helping in Jude’s goal.”
On the sensations in the dressing room in the early days of the season, Joselu said:
“The team’s confidence is maximum. We have high-quality players who are demonstrating that by taking advantage of any moment they can get their best version. It was very important to score in the three days away from home.”
“Now we think about the next game at the Bernabéu because it’s going to be very nice,” he added on returning home.
Finally, the Spanish striker elaborated on his assist to Jude Bellingham that brought home three points for the Merengues, saying:
“I’m very happy. It was clear to me that he wanted to attack the first post and he couldn’t finish on goal. I try to give it continuity because we have some beasts behind in the team that go very well in the second line.”
“I already told Jude to be close to me when there is a long or stopped ball. He read it very well. Happy to be a participant in that goal that has earned three points.”
Fran Garcia hails Real Madrid mentality
Real Madrid defender Fran Garcia also spoke to the press after the 1-0 win. He began by stressing the importance of winning three games on the road.
“The sensations are incredible when getting one more victory away from home in this league start. There are three out of three away from home and it gives us a lot of strength to continue doing things as before,” he said.

“This helps us to continue having today’s mentality, which is to try to get as many points as possible. The team is plugged in, we are taking out the games and today it was a complicated one,” he added.
When asked to comment on how the team bravely fought through adversity on the night including Vini’s injury and Rodrygo’s missed penalty, he said:
“Madrid is an entity prepared for everything. You have to go to the end no matter what. We have had complicated situations, but we have overcome and Madrid is used to that. We have to keep growing so that things keep coming out.”
On the importance of maintaining a clean sheet to secure three points, Garcia said:
“It all starts from the defence and if we keep the goal to zero we have many chances to get the three points either at home or away. We have done the work, it’s one more victory and now for the victory in the first home game.”
Finally, the former Rayo Vallecano star gave his two cents on Bellingham’s brilliance to take home all three points once again.
“Everyone sees him. He is a star and it is a pleasure and a pride to be close to him. We have an incredible squad and we have to take advantage of it to bring in more points.”

Real Madrid starlet will not return from injury till November – reports

Life at Real Madrid has gotten off to a rather torrid start for Turkish starlet Arda Guler, who has already faced a large number of setbacks since singing for Los Blancos.
Aged just 18, the winger-slash-midfielder has already picked up seven injuries in his senior career, which is cause for serious concern, especially since a couple of them have affected his ligaments – which is always bad news.
Hotly-tipped to be an exciting addition to the Madrid squad going forward, the youngster had to drop out of their pre-season tour early due to a meniscus injury.
This was treated conservatively, but after that did not yield good results, he had to undergo a procedure and seemed set to make the squad against Las Palmas, before another injury setback.
According to Diario AS, the new problem can keep him out for three weeks to a month, which means his Real Madrid debut may have to wait till early November, after the first El Clasico of the season on 28th October.
Guler’s history of fitness problems
In their report, AS also state that the Turkish teenager seems to have a propensity for injuries, accumulating seven of them in his career already.

There is also word going around that his recovery from this meniscus issue was rushed and not handled adequately.
That, combined with a stroke of bad luck means Real Madrid have to be very mindful of how Guler is reintegrated into the squad going forward.
This new injury is reportedly a thigh problem which will also need to be treated with caution.
A special recovery plan
Carlo Ancelotti stated before and after the Las Palmas clash that the plan was for Guler to have some minutes against the Canary Islanders, but he said that genetics, luck and a lack of sharpness have a big part to play in this relapse.
The Italian manager did say that this issue is not as serious, but all signs indicate that there is an urgent need to work on the youngster’s conditioning.
AS thus say that a specific plan has been devised since the summer to enhance Guler’s fitness and his resistance.
This is a programme that is reportedly similar to the one Rodrygo followed when he arrived from Brazil, much thinner than he is today, but without having sacrificed his football qualities.
