Just in: Real Madrid forward could be out for at least a month due to injury

Real Madrid’s have had wretched luck with injuries so far in the 2023/24 campaign.
Having lost key men Thibaut Courtois and Eder Militao to long-term injuries, Los Blancos saw key superstar Vinicius Jr get taken off with a thigh injury against Celta Vigo this past Friday.
The 23-year-old’s injury was understood to be nothing serious initially, but soon after it emerged that the situation could be a little more concerning than what was earlier thought.
Vinicius could be out for a month
Indeed, The Athletic’s Mario Cortegana is reporting that the results of Vinicius’ first scans were not positive at all.
The Real Madrid superstar underwent tests on Saturday as well as Sunday, and the results did not fill the club with confidence.
And based on those, the Brazilian forward could be out of action for at least one month.
As such, despite manager Carlo Ancelotti’s optimism, Real Madrid could be without their main man in attack for several matches.
The report adds that Vinicius will not be joining the Brazilian national team for their World Cup Qualifiers in the international break next month either.

More tests and scans will be done today based on which a better picture of the situation should emerge, but as things stand, Vinicius appears to be staring at an extended period on the sidelines.
Blow for Real Madrid
Following Karim Benzema’s summer exit, Vinicius has been tipped to step in and take over as Real Madrid’s spearhead in attack.
The Brazilian looked in fine fettle during the game against Celta before his substitution just 18 minutes in. His extended absence will come as a serious blow for Ancelotti & co., and they will hope that the 23-year-old is able to mount a swift recovery.
For now, it has been speculated that Vinicius’ injury could spark a formation change and could lead to minutes for Joselu.

French midfielder admits considering PSG move before Real Madrid called him

Aurelien Tchouameni has had an exciting start to his career at Real Madrid. Since joining the club for almost €80 million last summer, the young Frenchman has now become a pivotal figure in Real Madrid’s midfield unit.
However, prior to his move to Santiago Bernabeu, the midfielder was closely linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain.
In a recent interview, Tchouameni opened up on his links to PSG but revealed his decision to join Real Madrid.
Aurelien Tchouameni on PSG links
Talking about speculations linking him to PSG, Tchouameni said (h/t Madrid Zone), “PSG? Frankly, I thought about it. It’s a very big European club, we want the French clubs to succeed.”
“But honestly, when Real Madrid calls you, it’s very complicated to say no,” Tchouameni added.

The midfielder was linked with a move to PSG during his time at AS Monaco. Les Parisiens wanted to sign the youngster as part of their plans to reinforce the midfield unit.
Tchouameni, though, ended up opting for a move to Real Madrid, which turned out to be a prudent decision from the midfielder’s end.
Tchouameni’s career at Real Madrid
Aurelien Tchouameni made a total of 50 competitive appearances during his maiden season at Real Madrid.
Although the Frenchman was not entirely a first-team regular in Carlo Ancelotti’s setup, his stature in the team is expected to grow in the coming years.
Especially as Toni Kroos and Luka Modric move on at the end of the season, there is scope for Tchouameni to become a first-team regular in the Real Madrid midfield in the years to come.
The former AS Monaco starlet has already played a crucial role in the starting eleven so far this season and it is only going to continue as the season progresses.
