Kylian Mbappe’s move to Real Madrid at this point is an open secret. Official confirmation is all that is awaited, but the world knows that the deal is all but closed.

Earlier this week, French President Emmanuel Macron all but confirmed the same news. With PSG eliminated from the UEFA Champions League, moreover, an official announcement is not far away.

The big hint

Earlier today, PSG revealed their jersey for the upcoming season through an elaborate video featuring multiple of the team’s main protagonists.

Kylian Mbappe did not feature at all in the aforementioned video, all but confirming that he will not be a Parisien next season. After all, his jersey for the upcoming campaign will be in white as Los Blancos are already preparing for his renewal.

Having informed PSG that he will not continue next season, the youngster is said to have agreed a deal with Carlo Ancelotti’s side for five seasons.

Set to bid goodbye

As revealed earlier today, Mbappe and his entourage are already looking forward to moving to the Spanish capital, with reports even stating that the phenom’s father called Florentino Perez after the team’s comeback against Bayern Munich.

With PSG set to play their final home game of the season on Sunday, all signs point to the player’s farewell ceremony to be held on the same night.

It will be an emotional affair for the youngster who has spent close to six years in the French capital, although it has been known for a long time that his departure was only a matter of time.

The official announcement of his signing for Real Madrid is expected anywhere between the UEFA Champions League final and the commencement of the European Championships.

Real Madrid are confident that Kylian Mbappe will not participate in the Paris Olympic Games, and as a result, they expect him to join their preseason squad in August, according to a striking report from SPORT.

The club has made it clear that they will not make any exceptions for Mbappe, nor will they treat him as a “special case” who can participate in both the Euro Cup and the Olympic Games, which are generally meant for younger athletes.

It is important to highlight that Real Madrid president, Florentino Perez, is currently in Paris for a FIFA event. This event will give him the opportunity to meet with French President Emmanuel Macron and discuss the potential transfer of Mbappe.

One of Perez’s main interests is to bring the French star to Real Madrid as soon as possible. Ideally, this would be after the European Championship in Germany, which runs from June 14 to July 14, followed by a short vacation.

This is why Mbappe would be expected to join the team only in August.

No Mbappe is Paris Olympics

Interestingly, this plan would be disrupted if Mbappe were to compete in the Paris Olympic Games.

While participating in the Olympics would be highly appealing to the French capital and could even boost Mbappe’s popularity among his fellow countrymen, Real Madrid sources believe that he will skip the Olympics.

For now, Real Madrid’s confidence that Mbappe will not participate in the Olympics means they are planning for him to join the team for the preseason in August.

Meanwhile, as the situation is still developing, Perez’s trip to Paris for FIFA’s 120th Anniversary appears to be yielding results, paving the way for Mbappe’s anticipated move to Real Madrid.

While everything related to the transfer is on track, the official announcement is pending followed by the presentation.
