Liverpool, Man United rival Real Madrid in pursuit of La Liga midfield prodigy – report

A recent report from ESPN has offered a comprehensive update on Real Madrid’s status in the transfer market, highlighting how the club are slowly losing their grip over the Jude Bellingham pursuit.
While this has seen Real Madrid eyeing a move for Barcelona’s top target Bernardo Silva this coming summer, the club are open to other options as well.
One of the top alternatives for Bellingham is Gabri Veiga. The youngster, who is plying his trade for Celta Vigo, has come under the microscope this season for his blazing performances in La Liga.
However, as per the report, Real Madrid are set to face fresh competition from Premier League giants Liverpool and Manchester United in the race to sign Veiga. It appears both clubs are monitoring the youngster’s progress and could fancy an approach in the summer.
An attacking midfielder by trade, Veiga has been involved in 12 goals in 25 league matches for Celta Vigo this season.
Reports earlier this month had claimed that Veiga has a release clause worth €40 million in his contract. Real Madrid were subsequently linked with a move worth €25 million, along with RM Castilla players. But nothing conclusive has been agreed just yet.
The Whites, though, have the upper hand as the player reportedly favours a move to the Santiago Bernabeu over Premier League.
That is hardly surprising as the Bernabeu has become an excellent breeding ground for young talents lately, with players like Vinicius, Rodrygo and most recently, Alvaro Rodriguez thriving at the club.
Gabri Veiga will be hoping to continue that trend by joining Los Blancos in the coming summer. The youngster, though, may face competition from the returning Brahim Diaz, who is set to complete his loan spell at AC Milan and return to the first team at the end of the season.

Brazil not giving up on pursuit of Ancelotti: “Haven’t thrown in the towel yet”

Speaking to the media, Brazil Football Confederations (CBF) president Ednaldo Rodrigues has claimed that the Selecao have not given up on their pursuit of Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti, despite the Italian stating that he will not leave the club.
Brazil have been without a manager since the World Cup in Qatar last year, following which Tite stepped down. The CBF have made Ancelotti their top target and have been pursuing his signing for months but to no avail.
The 63-year-old Italian tactician has, on more than one occasion, made it clear that he will be at Real Madrid next season, with his contract expiring in 2024.
However, CBF president Rodrigues is adamant that Ancelotti’s statements are due to him being cautious as he is under contract at Real Madrid and that the Selecao are not prepared to give up on their quest to appoint him as of yet.
“We made a plan, that ‘Plan A’ is the one you know, Ancelotti, and as they say in the ‘ring’ (boxing), I haven’t thrown in the towel yet,” Rodrigues said (h/t Mundo Deportivo).
“Because of contracts, people are cautious,” he added.
Ancelotti, for his part, has repeatedly stated that he does not intend to leave Real Madrid unless he is forced out of the club.
Despite missing out on the La Liga and the UEFA Champions League titles last season, the club continue to back the veteran Italian and are planning for next season with him in charge.
So, despite Rodrigues’ confidence and perseverance, it is extremely unlikely that Ancelotti will be leaving Real Madrid for Brazil this summer.
