Erling Haaland has enjoyed a spectacular past 16 months or so since joining Manchester City from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2022.

The Norwegian international plundered 50+ goals in his debut campaign to help Pep Guardiola’s side to the historic treble triumph of the Premier League, the FA Cup, and the UEFA Champions League.

The 23-year-old, who recently picked up an injury, has been on the radars of Real Madrid for long now and continues to be on the club’s wishlist for the summer of 2024.

Haaland’s agent on Real Madrid rumours

Erling Haaland’s agent, Rafaela Pimenta, has already been asked about the links to Real Madrid on a number of occasions already.

She has also been quizzed about the existence of a release clause in his contract with Manchester City, but Pimenta has always been coy on the situation and has always kept the cards close to her chest.

Recently, in another interview with Corriere dello Sport, the interest from Real Madrid was put forth to Haaland’s agent, but Pimenta refused to entertain the topic, as she said (h/t Fabrizio Romano):

“Real Madrid links? You should ask Real Madrid, not me…”.

Real Madrid prepared for a Galactico signing

Having not replaced Karim Benzema this past summer, Real Madrid are planning for a marquee forward’s signing next year.

The Merengues have the finances in place to pull off a Galactico signing for the summer of 2024 and have Haaland on their agenda, along with PSG superstar Kylian Mbappe.

In fact, some reports recently suggested that the Real Madrid board might be leaning towards the Manchester City superstar over the Frenchman.

Speaking in an interview with Sport BILD (h/t AS), Germany legend Michael Ballack has claimed that Bayer Leverkusen sensation Florian Wirtz is ready to play for Real Madrid.

Wirtz is a player that Real Madrid have been closely monitoring for a while now, with the German sensation being seen as a long-term replacement for Toni Kroos, who announced his retirement yesterday.

A move for Wirtz is being planned for the summer of 2025 and Ballack believes that the Bundesliga title winner with Leverkusen is ready for the big move to the Santiago Bernabeu.

“Wirtz is ready for Real Madrid,” said Ballack.

“In terms of football, Wirtz can definitely play for Real Madrid. You can also see it in Jude Bellingham after his move from BVB: when you play with even better players, you become even better,” he added.

Wirtz has a contract with Bayer Leverkusen that runs until the summer of 2027. As things stand, the new German champions have no intentions of selling their prized asset this year.

However, there appears to be an acceptance that the German international will be on the move in 2025.

Other top clubs like Manchester City and Bayern Munich are also understood to be interested, but Real Madrid are likely to beat them in the race should it come down to that next year.

A move for Wirtz, though, could cost in excess of €100 million for Real Madrid should they do indeed decide to proceed with his signing next year.
