The newly crowned La Liga champions owe much of their success to their star players, but Real Madrid’s achievements were not solely driven by the usual suspects in the starting XI.

Unsung heroes like Joselu played a significant role in the Merengues’ success with several noteworthy displays off the bench.

And as a result of Joselu’s solid season, he has amassed interest from abroad, with Premier League giants Manchester United inquiring about the Spanish forward.

Joselu prioritizes Real Madrid

Manchester United had initial talks with Joselu’s agent about a potential move this summer, as per news outlet Caught Offside (h/t Madrid Xtra).

However, Joselu has a clear priority: to remain with Real Madrid. Despite interest from other clubs, he is committed to exploring every possibility of staying with Los Blancos.

Although the opportunity to potentially have a more prominent role with greater minutes is an appealing prospect, the striker is reportedly keen on concluding his career at Real Madrid.

His relationship with Carlo Ancelotti has been great, he feels comfortable in the club and has received great support from the fanbase, which explains the veteran striker’s desire to stay put.

With a permanent purchase option for just €1.5 million, Real Madrid are also expected to permanently acquire Joselu’s services.

The perfect back-up option

The 34-year-old has recorded an impressive 14 goals this season, even though Carlo Ancelotti has availed him as a secondary option for most of the season.

And because Joselu can create a significant impact in brief cameos and excels as an aerial threat, he remains undeterred by the prospect of Kylian Mbappe joining the team.

Consequently, Manchester United are bound to face a tough time wrapping up Joselu’s signing this summer.
