With less than two weeks left for the summer transfer window to slam shut, there appears to be no end in sight as far as the Kylian Mbappe transfer saga is concerned.

For the longest part of this summer, it appeared that Mbappe would be leaving PSG to join Real Madrid, what with him ruling out a contract extension beyond 2024 and the club freezing him out from the squad.

But, earlier this week, Mbappe was welcomed back into the fold by the Parisian giants after amicable discussions were held between the two parties.

The 24-year-old will now be available for selection and has been called up by manager Luis Enrique for the team’s next game against Toulouse, and a move to Real Madrid seemed off, until next year.

Now, though, a fresh report from L’Equipe (h/t ActuFoot) has brought to light the heated exchange that is understood to have taken place between Mbappe and PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi.

The report states that the said argument took place before the Parisian giants’ season opener against Lorient, specifically on the 8th of August.

During the meeting, Al-Khelaifi is understood to have told Mbappe something to the effect of: “You will see! You won’t play! We won’t give in.”

In response, the 2018 World Cup winner is understood to have said:: “I will see? What will I see? You’d be the only president to not play me.”

As mentioned earlier, this exchange took place before Mbappe was reinstated to the squad by PSG, which was done after Al-Khelaifi and Mbappe met again last weekend at the Lorient game.

The report now states that there have been no new meetings between the two parties since that day.

And even though media outlets have reported that Mbappe will remain in Paris for one more year, the end of the saga is still unclear, claims L’Equipe.

There have been some sources who continue to iterate that the forward will leave for Real Madrid before the transfer window slams shut.

At the same time, it has also been suggested that the possibility of him signing a new contract beyond 2024 is not ruled out either.

Aurelien Tchouameni has had an exciting start to his career at Real Madrid. Since joining the club for almost €80 million last summer, the young Frenchman has now become a pivotal figure in Real Madrid’s midfield unit.

However, prior to his move to Santiago Bernabeu, the midfielder was closely linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain.

In a recent interview, Tchouameni opened up on his links to PSG but revealed his decision to join Real Madrid.

Talking about speculations linking him to PSG, Tchouameni said (h/t Madrid Zone), “PSG? Frankly, I thought about it. It’s a very big European club, we want the French clubs to succeed.”

“But honestly, when Real Madrid calls you, it’s very complicated to say no,” Tchouameni added.

The midfielder was linked with a move to PSG during his time at AS Monaco. Les Parisiens wanted to sign the youngster as part of their plans to reinforce the midfield unit.

Tchouameni, though, ended up opting for a move to Real Madrid, which turned out to be a prudent decision from the midfielder’s end.

Tchouameni’s career at Real Madrid

Aurelien Tchouameni made a total of 50 competitive appearances during his maiden season at Real Madrid.

Although the Frenchman was not entirely a first-team regular in Carlo Ancelotti’s setup, his stature in the team is expected to grow in the coming years.

Especially as Toni Kroos and Luka Modric move on at the end of the season, there is scope for Tchouameni to become a first-team regular in the Real Madrid midfield in the years to come.

The former AS Monaco starlet has already played a crucial role in the starting eleven so far this season and it is only going to continue as the season progresses.
