Just as rumours about Kylian Mbappe’s potential move to Real Madrid in the summer are starting to heat up, there may be a fresh twist in the tale.

On Thursday evening, it was confirmed that Mbappe would leave PSG at the end of the season, when his contract runs out.

Since then, it has widely been speculated that the 25-year-old superstar will finally complete his dream move to Real Madrid, two years after having snubbed them.

Reports have even suggested that Los Blancos president, Florentino Perez, has already informed the locker room about the French forward’s impending arrival.

However, now, a report from Cadena SER is claiming that Mbappe’s representatives have been in contact with not only Real Madrid but also Manchester City.

Mbappe is represented by his mother, Fayza Lamari, who is in turn helped by at least three other figures who are very close to the footballer and act as a kind of unofficial representative of the player, but who are accredited and trusted by the PSG man.

One of these three representatives was in Manchester on Monday and met with several members of Manchester City in the run-up to their Champions League game, as per the report.

The Cityzens trained on Monday morning in England and then flew to Copenhagen. And it is claimed that the representative was even seen by a number of Manchester City players as well.

Meanwhile, another of these representatives, who is even closer to Mbappe than the one who went to negotiate in Manchester, travelled to Germany and attended Real Madrid’s Champions League match against RB Leipzig on Tuesday.

It is claimed that the said person is a childhood friend of Mbappe and is also known to Real Madrid midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni, whom he met after Tuesday’s game.

The report states that it was also on Tuesday that Mbappe informed PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi of his decision, which was made public on Thursday.

As to what this means, only time will tell. But the general feeling at this point appears to be that Mbappe will be joining Real Madrid in the summer.

‘Me and Zizou…’ – Toni Kroos teases iconic team-up for Real Madrid Legends team

Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos has said that during a recent training session, he bumped into Raul, a former striker and current Castilla manager, who confessed to him that he did not like his decision to retire from the game.

The midfielder added that he would now be interested in playing the Legends match where the likes of Zinedine Zidane, Roberto Carlos and Raul participate.

The veteran admitted that playing alongside these legends one day would be quite exciting.

“When I left the training yesterday, Raul was outside. He told me that he did not like the decision at first but found something positive because now I’m definitely playing this legends game with him,” said Kroos on his podcast

“He said I had to be there. Me and Zizou playing behind him, Figo on the right, and RC3 (Roberto Carlos) at the back. That could be funny,” he added.

During the early hours of Tuesday, May 21, Kroos announced that he would retire from professional football after the upcoming European Championship in his home country.

As a result, Real Madrid now have to work on an alternate strategy to plan life beyond Kroos. As suggested before, the Los Blancos are of the idea that at present, there is no one in the market who can fill the void.

On the other hand, though, Dani Ceballos’ chances of staying have now increased. At the same time, there are reports that Joshua Kimmich is being monitored, but nothing seems concrete yet.

For now, Real Madrid are largely expected to rely on the current roster as the likes of Aurelien Tchouameni, Eduardo Camavinga, Federico Valverde and even Jude Bellingham are more than capable of occupying Kroos’ position.

If even that does not work out, the team from the Spanish capital can look into the youth system to rope in a capable alternative.
