According to reports from Sergio Santos, Morocco have intensified conversations with Real Madrid star Brahim Diaz in recent weeks to convince him to join the Moroccan National Team.

They hope to get the green light from Real Madrid’s Diaz and Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal who are seen as the footballing icons in the country.

Moreover, they plan to use the country’s World Cup 2030 bid to influence their decision.

Diaz is currently a Spanish international

Diaz has already made his debut for the Spanish national team in a friendly game against Lithuania back in June 2021. In fact, he even scored for La Roja on the night.

Santos adds that the 24-year-old still wants to continue with the Spanish national team and will not be called up for Morocco in the upcoming international break.

Nevertheless, Morocco will continue to wait patiently and call him up once he gives the green light. Diaz does not want to rush his decision.

Brahim Diaz returned to Real Madrid ahead of the 2023-24 campaign after three years on loan at AC Milan, hoping to see more prominence for the men in white. His game time so far, however, has been limited.

The 24-year-old has started on the bench in all three of Los Blancos’ games so far this season and made a short nine-minute cameo in the 3-1 win over Almeria.

His short performance was not devoid of action, for Diaz completed two dribbles and won three duels in just nine minutes on the field.

His situation could see a dramatic turnaround in the days to come. With Vinicius Jr out injured for six weeks, Ancelotti is short-staffed in the attacking department.

Considering Diaz’s strong cameo against Almeria, he would be a prime candidate to replace the injured Brazilian.

Aurelien Tchouameni has had an exciting start to his career at Real Madrid. Since joining the club for almost €80 million last summer, the young Frenchman has now become a pivotal figure in Real Madrid’s midfield unit.

However, prior to his move to Santiago Bernabeu, the midfielder was closely linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain.

In a recent interview, Tchouameni opened up on his links to PSG but revealed his decision to join Real Madrid.

Talking about speculations linking him to PSG, Tchouameni said (h/t Madrid Zone), “PSG? Frankly, I thought about it. It’s a very big European club, we want the French clubs to succeed.”

“But honestly, when Real Madrid calls you, it’s very complicated to say no,” Tchouameni added.

The midfielder was linked with a move to PSG during his time at AS Monaco. Les Parisiens wanted to sign the youngster as part of their plans to reinforce the midfield unit.

Tchouameni, though, ended up opting for a move to Real Madrid, which turned out to be a prudent decision from the midfielder’s end.

Tchouameni’s career at Real Madrid

Aurelien Tchouameni made a total of 50 competitive appearances during his maiden season at Real Madrid.

Although the Frenchman was not entirely a first-team regular in Carlo Ancelotti’s setup, his stature in the team is expected to grow in the coming years.

Especially as Toni Kroos and Luka Modric move on at the end of the season, there is scope for Tchouameni to become a first-team regular in the Real Madrid midfield in the years to come.

The former AS Monaco starlet has already played a crucial role in the starting eleven so far this season and it is only going to continue as the season progresses.
