The report claims the club views the French midfielder as the most realistic candidate to create space in an increasingly crowded midfield, although convincing him to move will be far from straightforward.
This is because the latest Real Madrid news suggests Camavinga has no intention of giving up on his place at the Santiago Bernabeu and remains committed to proving himself under Mourinho.
Camavinga faces fierce competition but stays committed
As preparations for the new campaign begin, Mourinho is expected to welcome one of the deepest midfields in European football.
Aurelien Tchouameni, Federico Valverde, Jude Bellingham, Arda Guler, Bernardo Silva and Camavinga all offer different qualities, while younger players such as Thiago Pitarch and Franco Mastantuono can also operate in central areas.
Brahim Diaz provides another creative option capable of dropping into midfield when required.
With so many players competing for similar roles, club officials believe the squad already has enough quality and depth without recruiting another midfielder this summer.

Mourinho has a bigger decision to make
The numbers show why Vinicius’ finishing has become a talking point. He managed five shots against Elche, but only one was on target and none found the net.
After seven appearances this season, the Brazilian has scored just once, which is a striking return for a player Real Madrid rely upon to provide a major share of their attacking threat.
Ultimately, though, Real Madrid found another route to victory, with Arda Guler, Kylian Mbappe and Carlos Espi providing the goals in the 3-2 comeback.
