Newcastle want Real Madrid forward to be the protagonist for their project

Newcastle United are reportedly interested in signing Real Madrid’s Marco Asensio as the ‘cornerstone of their new project’, as per AS. The Spaniard has been looking for a way out before the start of next season as he is not a critical player in Carlo Ancelotti’s plans with Los Blancos.
The Magpies have looked like they are on their way up since hiring Eddie Howe, and the humungous takeover by Saudi’s Public Investment Fund (PIF). Since the takeover, the club have been linked with almost every player you could ever think of as they look to improve as quickly as possible.
The latest name comes in the form of Madrid man, Asensio. The winger’s contract ends in less than a year, and the La Liga champions have not yet extended it.
The 26-year-old has been pretty much an afterthought for the last couple of seasons, owing to injuries, lack of form and the heavy competition he faces.
Asensio has three options this summer: he can extend his contract with Madrid without taking a raise, find a new team, or continue working for the team through the 2023 season and then leave as a free agent.
Should Madrid not offer the Spanish international a new contract, it could “speed up the process” of him leaving Real Madrid. He has several offers to leave Carlo Ancelotti’s side, but the club that ‘pushes the most’ to sign him is said to be Newcastle.
Asensio may want to force a move this season, as he has his sights set on making the Spanish National Team’s squad for the World Cup in December.
Becoming the main man at the St. James’ Parl could do wonders for his chances of making the squad, obviously depending on if he can keep fit and in form through the season.

Real Madrid target has rejected advances from Bayern Munich – report

Harry Kane has once again become the centre of attention ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window.
With the forward having just 12 months remaining on his current contract at Tottenham, many expect him to leave the club at the end of the season. His situation has alerted Real Madrid, who were in contention to sign the player last summer.
However, Real Madrid are not the only club interested in the services of Kane, with the Englishman also being courted by Bayern Munich. The German giants are in the market for a top-class forward after being almost beaten by Dortmund for the Bundesliga title this term.
But according to Christian Falk, Harry Kane has decided to reject a move to Bayern Munich this summer. This is a significant boost for Real Madrid, as they continue to harbour hopes of signing the Englishman next season.
Amid growing fears over Karim Benzema’s continuity at Santiago Bernabeu, Real Madrid have had to step up their efforts to sign a new striker ahead of the new season.
The Spanish giants have been linked with a move for Roberto Firmino lately, with the Liverpool striker set to become a free transfer in the coming summer. But a proven superstar such as Kane could be a much better option for a club like Real Madrid.
With 280 goals in 435 matches for Tottenham, Kane has an excellent track record at the highest level of football and can help Real Madrid once again fight for the Champions League title next season while challenging Barcelona for the league crown.
But on the flip side, Real Madrid could think about the future, especially as they look to sign either Kylian Mbappe or Erling Haaland in 2024. Splashing the cash on Kane this summer, therefore, could complicate matters, as far as the club are concerned.
