Official: France jersey numbers for FIFA World Cup – Benzema #19, Tchouameni gets #8

The FIFA World Cup is only five days away from kicking off in Qatar and with teams having named their squads already, are now starting to release the kit numbers for the competition.
The French national team, who have three representatives from Real Madrid, have now announced the kit numbers the players will be wearing at the tournament.
Indeed, Karim Benzema, Aurelien Tchouameni and Eduardo Camavinga have all made it to the France squad for the World Cup in Qatar, with Ferland Mendy being the only exclusion.
And, Benzema will be donning the #19 jersey for Les Bleus at the quadrennial extravaganza in Qatar. While the 34-year-old wears the #9 kit at club level, that number is occupied by AC Milan striker Olivier Giroud for France, leading to him being handed #19.
Meanwhile, Tchouameni will be wearing #8, while Camavinga has been handed the #25 shirt by the reigning world champions. The latter’s inclusion had been a major doubt but injuries to N’Golo Kante and Paul Pogba meant that the Real Madrid starlet was named in the roster.

France also have two ex-Real Madrid stars in Raphael Varane and Theo Hernandez who will be wearing #4 and #22 respectively.
Atletico Madrid superstar Antoine Griezmann will be strutting out in his #7 kit while Kylian Mbappe has the #10 shirt.
France begin their World Cup campaign on November 22 with a game against Australia in Group D, which also consists of Tunisia and Denmark.
The current holders of the World Cup, Didier Deschamps’ side will be hoping to retain the trophy and will have a lot riding on Benzema, who has admittedly recovered from his injury woes.

Real Madrid have made Man City defensive target a top priority for the summer

Although Antonio Rudiger has had success since joining Real Madrid last summer, the club are in need of more depth and players that can form the backbone of the defensive unit in the years to come.
As part of their plans, Real Madrid are prioritising a move for Josko Gvardiol in the coming summer, reports 90 Min.
The outlet suggests Gvardiol will be one of the most wanted prospects in the market, with both Real Madrid and Manchester City eyeing a move for the Croatian international come the end of the season.
Formerly of Dinamo Zagreb, Gvardiol has enjoyed immense success since his move to the Bundesliga in 2021. He has impressed onlookers with his skill, organisation and discipline, which, coupled with his versatility, make him an appealing target for any European giant.
Gvardiol was also one of the top performers at the 2022 FIFA World Cup, helping Croatia finish third in the competition. His performances have not gone unnoticed, with Real Madrid among the clubs who have been keeping an eye on the defender for a while now.
However, signing Gvardiol will be a tricky task for Los Blancos. The player still has a long-term contract at Leipzig and could cost up to €85 million, as reported by 90 Min. Not to mention, the competition from Man City could be significant.
Real Madrid have no shortage of alternatives, though, with the club notably closely monitoring Portuguese defensive whizkid Antonio Silva, among others. So it will be interesting to see how the Spanish giants approach the market in this coming summer.
