Official: Real Madrid starting lineup against Alaves | La Liga MD 32
Real Madrid will be aiming to bring an end to their four-game winless run as they get set to take on Deportivo Alaves later tonight at the Santiago Bernabeu.
With kick-off just an hour way, Real Madrid boss Alvaro Arbeloa has announced the starting XI that will take the field against the relegation-threatened side. And, there are a couple of changes to the team that started against Bayern Munich last week.
Two of alterations come in defence, where Dean Huijsen replaces Antonio Rudiger as Eder Militao’s centre-back partner, while Alvaro Carreras comes in at left-back in place of Ferland Mendy.
Trent Alexander-Arnold continues at right-back, while Andriy Lunin retains his place in goal Thibaut Courtois’ continued absence.
Meanwhile, in midfield, Aurelien Tchouameni is back in the side after missing the Bayern Munich game through suspension.
His return means that Federico Valverde moves to the right side of the four-man midfield unit, leading to Brahim Diaz missing out. Jude Bellingham and Arda Guler are the other two midfielders for the home team.
Up top, Real Madrid start with their superstar duo of Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Jr.

Spanish football federation concerned by Real Madrid’s pressure on referees ahead of El Clasico – report
Real Madrid’s criticism of the refereeing has increased manifold with every passing game, with every decision against them causing further controversy.
The Madrid derby and the game against Villarreal in particular put the spotlight entirely on the refereeing and away from the football.
Madrid had two red cards given, one in each game, and also saw two red cards not given to Atletico players in the derby.
Now, according to Cadena SER, Los Blancos’ criticism of refereeing decisions has raised concerns within the Spanish football federation.
Federation officials believe Madrid’s public complaints are creating unnecessary pressure on referees and contributing to a hostile atmosphere.
They also believe that this is a ploy from the Spanish giants to gain a psychological advantage ahead of El Clasico against Barcelona.
Federation concerned about Madrid’s approach
The reported concerns come after another controversial weekend involving Real Madrid, following Vinicius Junior’s dismissal during the 1-0 victory over Villarreal.
The Brazilian received a straight red card for pulling an opponent’s hair, while a potential goal was also disallowed following VAR intervention.

Madrid’s frustration extended to the touchline, where Jose Mourinho was visibly unhappy with the officiating.
The Portuguese manager subsequently avoided his post-match press conference, fearing that speaking while angry could result in a suspension.
Madrid have every right to demand consistency
From Real Madrid’s perspective, questioning refereeing decisions should not automatically be interpreted as attempting to intimidate officials.
There is an important difference between applying improper pressure and publicly demanding accountability.
Madrid’s complaints have frequently centred on consistency, including why apparently similar incidents can produce different disciplinary outcomes.
Those questions deserve explanations, even when the original decisions are considered correct.
There is also the problem of why these decisions always seem to go against Madrid and, more particularly, against Vinicius Junior.
Federation should take a good look in the mirror
Instead of deflecting responsibility onto Real Madrid and turning this into a pressure tactic, the refereeing system needs to take a good, hard look in the mirror.

If the federation believes Madrid are unfairly criticising correct decisions, it has an opportunity to explain those decisions clearly and publicly.
Detailed explanations of controversial incidents could help reduce speculation and increase transparency, not just for Madrid but for all clubs in La Liga.
With El Clasico approaching, both sides have a responsibility to ensure that refereeing decisions do not overshadow the football.
Madrid should focus on improving from a sporting perspective, and it remains to be seen whether the refereeing in La Liga improves, especially ahead of the marquee clash against Barça.
