Things are moving fast with Real Madrid target Kylian Mbappe and his future over the past month, with his exit from PSG at the end of the season having been confirmed.

Even though an official announcement has not been made yet, PSG boss Luis Enrique all but confirmed Mbappe’s exit last night after their game against AS Monaco.

The Spanish tactician hooked Mbappe off at half-time itself, following which the forward did not sit on the bench but instead joined his mother in the stands.

After the game, explaining Mbappe’s substitution, Enrique said: “Sooner or later we will play without Mbappé, so I am looking for the best option for the team. We have to get used to that.”

PSG believe Mbappe has already signed for Real Madrid

Things are seemingly frosty between Enrique and Mbappe at the moment and Santi Aouna of Foot Mercato has come up with details regarding the situation at PSG.

Within PSG, some already believe and confirm that Mbappe has signed a contract with Real Madrid, not long after having confirmed his intention to leave the club.

In January, when PSG learned of the player’s future departure, club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi told his entourage that if the Frenchman signed for Real Madrid, “he wouldn’t play any more,” giving Enrique the carte blanche to do things as he sees fit with the forward.

The manager was also rather indifferent following Mbappe’s announcement before the Real Sociedad clash, a match in which he was doubtful due to injury.

At the time, Enrique suggested that the possible absence of Mbappe bothered him less than that of other players such as Ousmane Dembele and Bradley Barcola.

In reality, the two men have been at loggerheads for some time now. Sources at the club even claim that, in private, they can no longer stand each other, although there have been no verbal or physical confrontations.

Either way, Mbappe’s future looks determined and the player seems set to be on his way to Real Madrid from PSG.

Speaking in an interview with Vamos (h/t Mundo Deportivo), Spain manager Luis de la Fuente has acknowledged that Real Madrid ace Jude Bellingham is the No. 1 footballer in the world currently.

Bellingham has enjoyed a spectacular debut season at Real Madrid and has been one of their chief protagonists as the Merengues won the La Liga and the Spanish Super Cup titles and made it to the UCL finals.

Even though his form has somewhat dipped in the latter stages of the season, the England international remains integral to Carlo Ancelotti’s plans and one of Los Blancos’ most important players.

And Spain manager Luis de la Fuente expressed his admiration for Bellingham, saying:

“He is a player who is doing particularly well. It’s a subjective view, but I like Bellingham’s style a lot, I like that type of player, powerful….”

When asked if Bellingham is the No. 1 player in the world at the moment, De la Fuente replied in the affirmative, as he said: “I think so.”

Bellingham has played 40 times in all competitions for Real Madrid this season, racking up a total of 23 goals and 12 assists in the process.

The 20-year-old’s exploits with Los Blancos in his debut campaign have put him in contention for the Ballon d’Or this year.

A strong performance in the finals of the UEFA Champions League next month and a solid run with England at the UEFA Euro 2024 could further his chances of winning the Golden Ball, although his teammate Vinicius Jr. is also an equally strong contender.
