It is difficult to believe news about Kylian Mbappe at this point in time. The Frenchman’s future has always remained a volatile and unpredictable topic, for he has already been at Real Madrid’s doorstep thrice without completing the move.

This summer is said to be the World Cup winner’s final shot at signing for the men in white. The pressure appears to have got his entourage moving, for recent reports have stated that Mbappe has finally decided on a move to Spain.

PSG refuse to cave in

PSG have become one of football’s biggest institutions in recent years with big signings elevating their quality on the field. Yet, it is clear that Mbappe is not only the poster boy but also the talisman of the French club.

Losing Mbappe would inflict a huge loss on Luis Enrique’s side, not only from a sporting perspective but also in an economic sense. The fact that he will leave for free only rubs salt into the wounds.

As revealed by the covers of AS, PSG are still pressuring Mbappe to stay in France and be part of their project. They have urged the player to hold talks with the management on whether he wants to stay or not and will offer him a renewal based on the same.

The backup option

The outlet furthers that Mbappe has promised to answer PSG soon over their request and hold the aforementioned discussion. However, Nasser Al-Khelaifi is aware that he is closer to leaving than staying and is thus working on a backup plan.

As revealed earlier this week, Rafael Leao is PSG’s top target on that front. The 24-year-old already has eight goal contributions in 17 Serie A starts this campaign and provides a highly dynamic profile on the wing.

As for Real Madrid, the club will look to seal Mbappe’s signing with an agreement on paper at the earliest. With Premier League clubs also on the lookout, a swift move would be the best way forward.

Real Madrid are just days away from their highly anticipated Champions League final showdown against Borussia Dortmund.

Once the final has been played, planning for the summer transfer window will be in full swing, with the topic of arrivals and departures likely to be discussed.

One of the players facing an uncertain future is Nacho Fernandez. The Real Madrid captain has yet to disclose his future ambitions, despite nearing the end of his contract.

Nacho opens up about future

While he previously claimed that he had already made his decision, a shift in tone can be observed now, with Nacho asserting that he will soon sit with the club and his family to evaluate the best course of action

For now, the 34-year-old remains focused on the Champions League final and does not wish to draw any unnecessary attention.

“Future? The focus is on the final now. After that, I will sit with the club, Ancelotti and my family and I’ll decide what’s the best thing for me,” he told El Chiringuito.

Fernandez acknowledges the fans’ support

Additionally, the veteran centre-back claimed that he does need a grand farewell to know how much the Madrid faithful appreciate him.

“That love the fans have for Toni is the same they have for me. I don’t need a farewell to know the fans love me,” he reflected.

Nacho has devoted his entire career to Real Madrid, rising through the ranks from the youth academy and spending over two decades with the Merengues.

However, he has alluded to the possibility of perhaps donning the colours of a different jersey.

“Sometimes the circumstances are not right to be a ‘one club man’,” he cryptically claimed.
