After emerging victorious with a 1-0 win against RB Leipzig in the Champions League, Real Madrid will be diverting their focus back to La Liga.

The Merengues lead the table with 61 points and recently widened their gap with Girona by handing them a 4-0 thrashing.

In their quest to maintain a first-place position in La Liga, Real Madrid will be eager to grab all three points against Rayo Vallecano tomorrow at the Estadio de Vallecas.

The opposition coach, Inigo Perez spoke to the press ahead of the encounter and touched upon matters related to the clash via AS.

Talking about the danger of Vinicius, who is enjoying a great year after being riddled with injuries, Perez said he is well aware of the talent he possesses and hopes to emulate the success his team had shutting him down last year with the game ending scoreless.

“I’m not going to discover Vinicius’ level. The rest of the facets are obvious. Last year, his marking was extraordinary. We will try to look for that idea, knowing that the difficulty is great,” he stated.

When asked how to overcome Real Madrid, who are flying high in all competitions this season, Perez emphasized being bold and not radiating fear.

“We coaches always say the same thing. You can notice a weakness and try to push them to the limit. One of the keys is to lose their fear, and go for the ball, if they notice your fear they’ll go over your head.

We must not be afraid of the tactical nuances that we will discuss with the players,” he said.

Waxing lyrical about Carlo Ancelotti who signed an extension at the end of last year, Perez regarded the Italian as one of his references:

“When I was little I wasn’t a mythomaniac. I didn’t have posters in the room. Yes, I have had references from technicians and Ancelotti is one of them.

“He masters all facets to perfection. Every year he surpasses himself by supporting the weight of an institution like Madrid. It is an honour to meet him.”

Real Madrid will sign off on their successful La Liga campaign today with a fixture against Real Betis at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The game, being seen as a final preparation for the UEFA Champions League final against Borussia Dortmund, sees manager Carlo Ancelotti field his strongest possible lineup.

All eyes will obviously be on the retiring Toni Kroos, who bids goodbye to the Bernabeu in what will be his final home game as a Real Madrid player.

The German international starts in the centre of the park alongside Federico Valverde, while Eduardo Camavinga slots in as the No. 6.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid captain, Nacho Fernandez, also starts in what could be his last game at the Bernabeu as well.

Nacho pairs up with Antonio Rudiger in defence, flanked by the full-back pairing of Dani Carvajal and Ferland Mendy. Thibaut Courtois starts in goal ahead of Andriy Lunin and Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Up front, Vinicius Jr. starts in attack, partnering up with Rodrygo Goes. Top scorer Jude Bellingham occupies the attacking midfield role for Real Madrid.
