Real Madrid are one final step away from putting this campaign in the history books, as the all-important Champions League final against Borussia Dortmund looms large.

If Real Madrid can secure victory, they will have won the Spanish Super Cup, La Liga, and Champions League, which will automatically place their best players in contention for the Ballon d’Or.

In that case, Jude Bellingham is bound to be one of the frontrunners, as he has played a pivotal role for Madrid in all competitions.

However, the Englishman will have his sights set on the upcoming Euros as well, with England vying to end their international trophy drought.

Bellingham could be England’s difference-maker

The Three Lions have often suffered from mental lapses in the final phases of international tournaments.

However, this time around, Bellingham is expected to take a more prominent role in the team following his superb season in the Spanish Capital.

Premier League all-time leading goalscorer Alan Shearer believes Bellingham could turn out to be England’s saviour in Germany this summer.

“Bellingham could be the ‘X-factor’ for England at the Euros, if we look at what he has achieved.

“His numbers at Real Madrid this season, his goals and assists, are not easy to do. He has to use the Real Madrid power as an advantage,” Shearer claimed, as quoted by AS.

After all, Bellingham has notched an impressive 34-goal contributions this season, despite this being his first season for the Merengues and playing in midfield.

Bellingham is embodying Madrid’s principles

The youngster’s immediate impact at Madrid showcases his deep understanding of the club’s values, something England will undoubtedly look to capitalize on.

“At Real Madrid, you learn to recognize the legends of the past. The values and identity of the club are built on those legends who carried this badge so well before us.

It’s important to carry on the legacy and values they put in place and that’s what I try to do,” Bellingham professed two weeks ago.

Real Madrid are set to welcome two new stars this summer, Kylian Mbappe and Endrick, but the Merengues are keen on further bolstering their squad.

Owing to the embarrassment of riches Real Madrid possess in midfield, replacing Toni Kroos with a new signing in midfield is not seen as an immediate priority.

Nonetheless, interesting opportunities will invariably be evaluated closely and it appears the name of Adrien Rabiot has entered the club’s crosshairs.

Real Madrid not the only ones interested

But, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, Real Madrid face stiff competition from Premier League clubs and Saudi Arabian teams in their pursuit of midfielder Adrien Rabiot.

The French midfielder is set to become a free agent if he chooses not to renew his contract with Juventus, a decision that seems increasingly likely.

Known for his technical prowess and versatility, Rabiot excels at playing multiple roles in midfield and notably thriving as a goal threat with late runs inside the opposition box that tend to catch opponents off guard.

While Real Madrid have no shortage of quality in midfield, Dani Ceballos’ exit could pave the way for the 29-year-old to secure a signing for Los Blancos.

However, Real Madrid would have to outmanoeuvre both the financial prowess of Saudi Arabian teams and the competitive allure of Premier League clubs to secure Rabiot’s signature.

On top of that, Juventus are also not giving up on their efforts to try and renew the contract of the French international.

In any case, Rabiot is unlikely to be a priority target for the club but they will be sure to keep a close eye on how his situation develops.
