Brazil, widely tipped as one of the favourites to win the FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar, have been hit by injuries since the start of the tournament.

Star main Neymar was injured in the opener against Serbia while Danilo also hurt his ankle and missed the last two matches. Alex Sandro also picked up a knock ahead of the Round of 16 stages.

Now, as per the latest update from MARCA, Selecao have been rocked by two more injuries in the camp as Gabriel Jesus and Alex Telles have been ruled out of the remainder of the World Cup.

Jesus started for Brazil in their last group game against Cameroon yesterday and played for a little more than an hour. However, he left with a back discomfort and it has now been confirmed that he will need at least three weeks to recover.

Jesus’ exit from the World Cup, coupled with Neymar’s own injury problem, opens the door for Real Madrid forward Rodrygo to gain greater prominence in the Brazil roster for the remainder of the tournament, reports MARCA.

Rodrygo made substitute appearances in the first two matches against Serbia and Switzerland before starting against Cameroon last night. The 21-year-old was a bright spot for Tite’s side in the defeat to the African nation.

The Real Madrid youngster has given a good account of himself in each of his three appearances in Qatar so far. And, given the mounting injury worries in the squad, Tite could now rely even more on the former Santos wonderkid.

Apart from Rodrygo, the Brazil manager also has the likes of Gabriel Martinelli, Antony and Pedro as options in the attacking unit, who could pair up alongside Richarlison and Vinicius Jr, who are permanent fixtures in the frontline.

Having topped Group G, Brazil will take on Group H runners-up South Korea in the Round of 16 of the World Cup, with the game set to be played on Monday night.

After welcoming Kylian Mbappe earlier this week in a grand celebration at the Santiago Bernabeu, Real Madrid have now confirmed the date for the official presentation of another new signing, Endrick.

The Spanish capital club have announced that the teenage sensation will be presented as a new Real Madrid player on July 27.

“Real Madrid CF announces that on Saturday 27 July, at 12:00, the presentation of our player Endrick will take place at the Santiago Bernabéu stadium,” the statement from the club read.

“Previously, Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez will welcome Endrick to Real Madrid City for the signing ceremony that will bind our new player to the club for the next six seasons.”

Real Madrid signed Endrick from Palmeiras back in December 2022 itself in a deal that could reach €60 million including add-ons.

However, since he was only 16 years old at the time, the striker had to continue in Brazil. Set to turn 18 on July 21, the centre-forward will finally be eligible to move to Europe.

In 82 appearances for Palmeiras, Endrick has scored 21 goals and set up four more. The striker also has three goals in ten matches for Brazil.

Endrick will be presented formally at the Santiago Bernabeu on July 27 after he undergoes medicals and signs his contract with club president Florentino Perez.

After the presentation, Endrick will speak to the media in the press room at the Santiago Bernabeu.
