Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid tracking 18-year-old Spanish prospect, Barcelona also keen

Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid are following the progress of Real Valladolid youngster Ivan Fresneda, who is also on the radars of FC Barcelona. This report comes from GOAL Spain, who claim that the 18-year-old has a release clause worth €30 million in his contract.
Fresneda is no stranger to Real Madrid, having spent four years at the club’s La Fabrica academy between 2014 and 2018. Following that he had a two-year stint with Leganes before ending up at the Valladolid youth setup in 2020.
The right-back broke into the first team last year, making his debut under manager Pacheta. Having played two matches in 2021/22, Fresneda has seen more game-time this season, racking up eight appearances across all competitions.
In fact, the teenager was part of the Valladolid team that faced Real Madrid last Friday. And during that game, the former La Fabrica prospect is believed to have made a big impression on Los Blancos’ officials.
The believe that Fresneda fits all the requirements to become a signing for Real Madrid as he is young, homegrown, is already garnering first-team experience and has shown great potential.
But, Real Madrid are not alone in pursuit of Fresneda as Atletico Madrid are also keen on the teenager. Los Rojiblancos had made enquiries for the youngster last January itself and were willing to offer a transfer fee for his signing.
A move did not materialise, but Diego Simeone’s side have continued to keep tabs on him ever since.
Furthermore, Barcelona, whose search for a right-back is well-known, are also interested in Fresneda, although they are not in a position to sign the youngster right now. But if there is a possibility of a transfer in the summer, the Catalans would be willing to explore the avenue.
Fresneda has a release clause worth €30 million in his Valladolid contract, but the report states that it could rise to €40 million in the summer.
With clubs from the Premier League also keen, the 18-year-old could be primed for a big move in his career in the coming months.

Atletico Madrid competing with Barcelona, Liverpool for 26-year-old midfielder

Sofyan Amrabat is a player in demand, with the midfielder reportedly a top target for various clubs during the January transfer window, as confirmed by his brother.
However, Atletico Madrid are also keeping tabs on the Moroccan international, with the club said to be interested in bringing him to Wanda Metropolitano.
According to Foot Mercato, Amrabat is keen on moving to La Liga, and Atletico Madrid are one of the clubs that he admires. The midfielder had previously praised Atleti boss Diego Simeone, further fueling speculation of a potential move to the Spanish capital.
Atletico Madrid’s interest in Amrabat comes in the midst of uncertainty over the future of Axel Witsel.
The Fiorentina star could be a possible replacement for the Belgian midfielder, whose contract at the club expires at the end of the season, with his father hinting at a possible exit.
However, Atleti would face competition from Barcelona in the pursuit of Amrabat, who appears to be prioritising a move to Camp Nou. The Moroccan international could potentially become an excellent alternative for Barça’s top target, Martin Zubimendi.
However, Fiorentina is unlikely to let the midfielder go cheaply, and Barcelona would have to sort out their economic situation to afford him.
That is where Atletico Madrid might look to get ahead of the Catalans. Although the Spanish giants are also struggling with finances, they may still be able to swoop in and secure the services of the Fiorentina star come the end of the season.
It is too early to deduce anything just yet. A lot will be uncovered as we enter the final phase of the season. Amrabat himself will be keen on making a definitive decision on his future, as he looks to take the next step in his career.
