Real Madrid attacker the only one guaranteed a contract extension – report

As things stand, Real Madrid are set for a mass exodus in the summer of 2023. Several veterans of the club have their contracts running out in June, and there seems to be no internal hurry to renew the deals.

ABC (h/t RM4Arab) brings to light some critical news about the status of the expiring contracts. According to the Spanish outlet, Karim Benzema is the one player who is guaranteed to sign a new deal at the Bernabeu. The futures of Luka Modric, Marco Asensio and Dani Ceballos are all unclear and will depend on their performance in the rest of the campaign.

The one unique case at the club is that of Toni Kroos. Real Madrid wish for him to renew his contract for at least another season and have even made an offer. However, the hurdle in this case is from the player’s side as he contemplates retirement at the end of the season.

While Kroos is set to make his decision by the end of February, his teammate Luka Modric seems to have scuffed an extension that was written in stone. The Croatian International has seen a steep dip in form since the FIFA World Cup, and there are now serious doubts over his renewal at the Bernabeu offices.

The midfield will not be completely depleted, however, for Dani Ceballos has earned himself the attention of directors in recent games. The Spaniard’s impactful performances continue to tempt Carlo Ancelotti to include him in the future plans and might be enough for him to put pen to paper.

Asensio, on the other hand, will have to prove his worth in the second half of the campaign. Reports earlier today state that Ancelotti eyes him as a good backup and that his future will be sorted in the coming weeks.

Turkish giants to go all-out to sign Real Madrid outcast – report

There is no way back for Eden Hazard at Real Madrid. The Belgian international has not given the management any reason to have faith in his abilities over his past four seasons at the club and is unsurprisingly the most important departure for the Merengues in the summer.

Hazard has one more year on his contract in Madrid. However, it is clear that Carlo Ancelotti does not trust him and that any potential replacement manager in the summer will echo his stance.

According to reports from Mundo Deportivo, Fenerbahce are willing to go all out to sign Hazard this summer. The Turkish side have made the former Chelsea their prime target, yet face a steep task ahead of them.

The 32-year-old is hellbent on seeing out his contract with Los Blancos despite seeing his career sink right before his eyes. It thus becomes complicated for the party to lure away the forward, especially in a competition outside Europe’s top five leagues.

Fenerbahce attempted to sign the winger in the recently concluded winter transfer market. They reached an agreement with Real Madrid but failed to get over the line as they could not convince the player of the move.

The biggest obstacle for the Turkish side will be convincing Hazard to make the move by letting go of his lucrative contract in Madrid. The chances are slim, but not impossible.

Hazard has made just three league appearances and one start for Ancelotti’s side this season in La Liga, a steep fall from last season’s 18 and seven respectively.

His last appearance for the team came back in January when Real Madrid faced Cacereno in the Copa del Rey. In La Liga however, he last played in September 2022 in a 4-1 win over Mallorca.
