Real Madrid breakthrough starlet’s market value soars while midfielder’s plummets
Raul Asencio is enjoying his breakthrough season at Real Madrid, having stepped in at the time need for Carlo Ancelotti’s setup.
The 22-year-old has become a regular and trusted starter for the Real Madrid boss now and has even earned a call-up to the Spanish national team on the back of his stellar showings for the reigning La Liga champions.
Transfer value soars
Having cemented his place in Real Madrid’s first team due to an injury crisis in defence, and recently earning a call-up to the Spanish national squad under Luis de la Fuente, Asencio has become one of the standout names at the club.
His rise has been reflected in Transfermarkt’s latest update of market values for players.
In June 2024, the Spaniard’s market value was just €300,000. By December last year, after a few months in the first team, it had already surged to €7.5 million.
Today, with the latest update being released, Asencio has taken an even bigger leap, with his valuation soaring to an impressive €30 million.
This makes Asencio the second most valuable defender at Real Madrid, behind only Éder Militão (€40 million) and ahead of Antonio Rüdiger (€24 million) and Ferland Mendy (€18 million).
Camavinga’s decline continues
The other major story from Transfermarkt’s update pertaining to Real Madrid is far less positive.
Promising midfielder Eduardo Camavinga’s market value has dropped to €70 million. While still a strong valuation, especially for a 22-year-old player, it marks a significant decline compared to his recent past.
Since June 2023, Camavinga’s market value had consistently been above €85 million. His peak came after Real Madrid’s last Champions League triumph, when he reached €100 million and was considered one of the most valuable midfielders in Europe.
However, his value dropped to €80 million in December, and this latest update confirms that the downward trend continues.
Recurring injuries have disrupted his consistency, and when he has played, lapses in concentration and poor decision-making have led to costly mistakes, leading to his minutes getting reduced and market value dropping.
Granada have renewed the contract of Moroccan striker Rayan Zinebi until 2029, before sending him out on loan to Real Madrid Castilla for the 2026/27 season, confirms Mundo Deportivo.
The agreement between Granada and Zinebi, who is currently representing Morocco at the 2026 Mediterranean Games with the Under-20 national team, extends his contract until June 30, 2029.
The deal also includes an option to extend it by a further two seasons, depending on the achievement of various sporting objectives.
At the same time, Granada and Real Madrid reached an agreement for Zinebi to spend the season with the Madrid club, initially joining their reserve side in the RFEF Primera Federación.
“Granada Football Club and Rayan Zinebi , a player for Recreativo Granada Club , have reached a renewal agreement until June 30, 2029, with the option to extend for two more seasons depending on different sporting objectives,” the official statement read.
“In turn, the Nazari club and Real Madrid CF have reached a loan agreement for the player so that he will play for the Madrid club in the 2026/27 season.”

The 19-year-old is regarded as one of Granada’s biggest academy prospects and one of the most promising young forwards in African football.
Another Granada player heads to Madrid
Zinebi becomes the second Granada player to move to Real Madrid in recent days.
The first was Ghanaian defender Oscar Naasei, who also joined the Spanish capital club earlier this week with the intention of playing for Castilla.
Zinebi arrived at Granada last summer as a youth player and ended the campaign by making his Segunda División debut with the first team.
He also took part in Granada’s pre-season preparations under coach José Rojo ‘Pacheta’ before departing to represent Morocco at the Mediterranean Games.
Now, his next stage of development will take place in Madrid, where Castilla will provide him with regular senior football while Real Madrid monitor his progress.
