Real Madrid camp very angry with Atletico Madrid ultras after they target Vinicius Jr

A recent report from The Athletic has offered a comprehensive update on the events that unfolded before and after an effigy of Vinicius Junior was hung on a bridge in Madrid by Atletico Madrid fans.
The incident sparked a lot of controversies online and it was Vinicius who was once again subjected to hate and racism.
According to the report, there is a great amount of anger within the Real Madrid camp over the incident. The club sent out its official statement against the effigy, labelling it a shame to society.
Atleti, too, were quick to condemn the act while La Liga president Javier Tebas went one step further by threatening to jail whoever was behind such an act.
But for Vinicius, nothing was enough. He was not happy with the war of words and very little action. His entourage particularly blames Tebas for allowing such events to happen.
Internally, Real Madrid camp is infuriated at the Atleti ultras. But Frente Atletico, a hardline ultra of the club, were quick to deny any involvement, labelling the allegations as pre-derby propaganda.
Vinicius, for his part, reacted rather well to the effigy when he first saw it on a social media post. As per norms, the Real Madrid camp did not speak broadly on the matter and it was discussed only in closed circles.
Following the incident, Real Madrid’s Brazilian contingent of Rodrygo and Eder Militao, watched over Vinicius.
Even the Brazilian’s family members did not contact the player about the incident as they wanted him to remain completely committed to the derby. Vinicius did not disappoint either, helping Real Madrid secure a 3-1 victory against Atleti, even scoring the last goal.
Vinicius’ performance, coupled with his social media post afterwards, may have sated a lot of Real Madrid fans. But for the player, it is becoming an uphill battle to deal with racism in almost every La Liga contest.
The report quotes a member of Vinicius Jr’s entourage saying: “Of course, there is a lot of anger (regarding the racist attacks), but Viní is in love with Madrid.”

Real Madrid held talks with Thomas Tuchel before he signed for Bayern Munich

Before he was hired by Bayern Munich as the direct replacement for Julian Nagelsmann, Thomas Tuchel was closely linked with a move to Real Madrid at the end of the season.
The German tactician had kept a close eye on the development at Santiago Bernabeu, especially with coach Carlo Ancelotti facing immense pressure following the club’s poor performances in domestic competitions.
A recent report from Jorge Picon has offered more details on the Tuchel saga, suggesting that the coach was even learning Spanish during his time at Ibiza, anticipating a potential move to Real Madrid at the end of the season.
There were even contacts made between Tuchel’s entourage and Real Madrid. Although the talks were positive, the two sides were not able to reach an agreement.
Real Madrid did not guarantee him the job. They had informed Tuchel that Ancelotti may continue at the Bernabeu in the event the club win the UEFA Champions League this season.
This bit of uncertainty played a critical role in convincing Tuchel to join Bayern Munich instead. The former Chelsea boss was hired as a direct replacement for Nagelsmann, who was sacked after a poor season in the Bundesliga by the club’s high standards.
However, Tuchel’s move to Bayern appears to be a missed opportunity on the German’s part, as Real Madrid have recently intensified their search for a new manager.
It is clear that the club’s hierarchy is yet to reach a consensus over the future of Ancelotti, with some believing that a change is necessary come the end of the season. In fact, the club’s president Florentino Perez has been an admirer of Tuchel’s compatriot Nagelsmann.
The coaching prodigy is one of the candidates to replace Ancelotti in the summer, though it is Mauricio Pochettion who is reportedly leading the race so far.
