Real Madrid closely monitoring Bayern Munich defender’s situation, no progress in renewal talks

Real Madrid continue to be regarded as one of the big hitters of the transfer window, and next summer they aim to go all guns blazing.

A player that has long been linked with the club is Bayern Munich talisman Alphonso Davies. The Canadian International is seen as one of the primary targets to reinforce the left-back position next season.

Due to a lack of elite players at the moment with Eduardo Camavinga frequently being used as a stand-in full-back, the Merengues are hoping to upgrade on Ferland Mendy and Fran Garcia with Alphonso Davies.

Davies the priority

Now, providing an update on the close ties between Davies and Real Madrid, Fabrizio Romano (h/t RM4Arab) has come out to claim that Real Madrid are closely monitoring every move of Bayern Munich and Alphonso Davies.

Moreover, the Champions League winner has been recognized as a priority for the Royal Whites next summer.

Davies couples offensive output with stellar recoveries in defense and would help Real Madrid achieve their sporting ambitions with the club eager to integrate more quality in the back-line.

As per the information, so far, negotiations between Alphonso Davies and Bayern Munich to renew his contract have failed to progress.

The 23-year-old will be entering his final year with the Bavarians next summer as his current contract expires in 2025.

And Bayern Munich are aware that they cannot repeat the case of David Alaba by letting him go for free, which means they may eventually open up to placing him on the market in the 2024 summer transfer window.

Davies is rumoured to have turned down alluring offers from Bayern, which gives Real Madrid a confidence boost in their pursuit of the Canadian star.

Real Madrid will sign off on their successful La Liga campaign today with a fixture against Real Betis at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The game, being seen as a final preparation for the UEFA Champions League final against Borussia Dortmund, sees manager Carlo Ancelotti field his strongest possible lineup.

All eyes will obviously be on the retiring Toni Kroos, who bids goodbye to the Bernabeu in what will be his final home game as a Real Madrid player.

The German international starts in the centre of the park alongside Federico Valverde, while Eduardo Camavinga slots in as the No. 6.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid captain, Nacho Fernandez, also starts in what could be his last game at the Bernabeu as well.

Nacho pairs up with Antonio Rudiger in defence, flanked by the full-back pairing of Dani Carvajal and Ferland Mendy. Thibaut Courtois starts in goal ahead of Andriy Lunin and Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Up front, Vinicius Jr. starts in attack, partnering up with Rodrygo Goes. Top scorer Jude Bellingham occupies the attacking midfield role for Real Madrid.
