Real Madrid could consider offers for €70 million-rated defender this summer

In what comes as a massive revelation, Mundo Deportivo brings to light that Real Madrid consider Eder Militao to be transferable this summer.

The Brazilian centre-back spent most of the current season injured through an ACL blow, but his meagre playing time despite recovery suggests that the management sees superior options available.

With several big arrivals set for June, moreover, Los Blancos require a few departures to balance the books.

Ancelotti’s conviction

Despite being virtually undroppable for Real Madrid before his injury, Militao’s exile helped Antonio Rudiger and Nacho Fernandez prove their worth to the management and administration.

David Alaba’s presence in the squad, moreover, provides sufficient backup while the arrival of a new centre-back in Leny Yoro would only amplify Ancelotti’s absence.

The outlet also furthers that Aurelien Tchouameni’s success at centre-back, in particular, played a big part in detaching Ancelotti from the Brazilian centre-back. He is no longer seen as untransferable.

The Rodrygo plan

With Kylian Mbappe set to arrive next month and Vinicius Jr already undroppable, Rodrygo Goes was expected to be one of the worst hit parties by the summer’s developments.

After all, he would have no place in Ancelotti’s 4-4-2 setup given that only two players can start in the final third. Jude Bellingham, moreover, is the undisputed starter at the apex of the midfield in the current setup.

Militao’s departure, thus, will indirectly help keep Rodrygo at the club, hope Real Madrid.

Los Blancos hope that relegating Tchouameni to a defensive role next season will open up an extra place in midfield, helping Bellingham drop back into the role of a traditional midfielder as opposed to an attacking midfielder.

Rodrygo, in such a scenario, could occupy the third place in attack alongside Vinicius and Mbappe.

Revealed: Reasons why Real Madrid captain is contemplating exit

Real Madrid bid Toni Kroos an emotional farewell toward the end of last season, as the German midfielder opted not to pursue continuity in the Spanish capital and instead ride off into the sunset.

However, as the summer transfer window looms large, it appears the German maestro will not be the only veteran hitting the exit door for Los Blancos.

Indeed, Nacho Fernandez’s future continues to be up in the air, as his Real Madrid contract is set to expire in a few days.

Why Nacho is mulling over a departure

The Real Madrid centre-back has been reported to have received a lucrative two-year offer from Al Ittihad, who would nearly quadruple his current salary.

Aside from the appealing financial package from Saudi Arabia, according to AS, Nacho is inclined to leave for other reasons.

For one, the Spanish defender believes that under Ancelotti, his position on the team has not evolved.

Even though he had an impressive season, missing important games like the league Clasico at Santiago Bernabeu and the first leg of the Champions League quarterfinals against Manchester City has caused him to reevaluate his future.

This season, he has participated in 45 of the 55 games, missing just three because of suspensions.

Yet, his future at the club appears doubtful owing to the return of Rafa Marin from loan, the presence of Antonio Rudiger, and the return of Eder Militao and David Alaba from injury.

Moreover, Nacho’s thoughts have also been impacted by the persistent speculations that Real Madrid is interested in signing Leny Yoro. In the event that Nacho departs, Yoro might join either this summer.

As such, given the competition in defence next season and the reported wage hike at Al Ittihad, it is likely that Nacho will end up departing the Merengues.
