Real Madrid could generate at least €60 million from academy-related transfers
According to AS, Real Madrid could raise at least €60 million from transfers of academy players this summer, with that figure potentially rising towards €100 million if several high-profile departures materialise.
The club’s initial projections focused on income generated through academy graduates and player sales connected to La Fabrica. However, with multiple deals developing simultaneously, the final total could significantly exceed expectations.
Clauses continue to pay off
Real Madrid have become experts at protecting the value of their academy products.
Rather than selling young players outright, the club frequently includes buy-back clauses, sell-on percentages and other future rights in transfer agreements. This approach allows the Merengues to continue benefiting financially even after players leave the club.
The system has become a key part of the club’s long-term planning, combining sporting development with smart financial management under academy director Manu Fernandez and chief executive Jose Angel Sanchez.
Not only has Valdebebas become largely self-sufficient financially, but it now represents a significant source of transfer revenue. The increased exposure given to academy players in recent seasons has further enhanced their market value.
A number of Castilla players are currently generating interest across Europe. Cesar Palacios is being monitored by Como and Osasuna, while Manuel Angel, Dani Yanez and Victor Valdepenas have all attracted attention from potential suitors.
Major windfall from Victor Munoz
The first major transaction is expected to involve Victor Munoz, who is close to completing a move to Newcastle after spending last season at Osasuna. The deal would continue a transfer strategy that has become highly profitable for Real Madrid in recent years.
Less than a year after allowing Munoz to leave, the club could earn around €20 million through the original transfer fee and the percentage they retained on any future sale.
A similar model has already delivered strong returns. Earlier this year, the transfers involving Alex Jimenez, first to AC Milan and later to Bournemouth, generated close to €15 million for the club.
Real Madrid also retain varying levels of control over former academy players including Sergio Arribas, Mario Gila, Chema Andres, Antonio Blanco, Alvaro Rodriguez and Rafa Obrador, meaning future transfers involving those players could provide additional income.
Potential first-team departures could increase revenue
The projected income could rise considerably if offers arrive for several academy graduates currently involved with the first team.
Fran Garcia’s future remains uncertain, while interest continues to grow around Gonzalo Garcia, whose valuation is around €60 million. Raul Asencio is another player attracting attention.
Should one or more of those players depart, Real Madrid’s academy-related income this summer could move well beyond the €60 million mark and approach €100 million.

Real Madrid forward Vinicius Jr. admits finishing problem after another frustrating night vs Elche: ‘Can’t miss that much’
Vinicius Jr.’s difficult start in front of goal continued against Elche, and the Real Madrid forward did not need anyone to tell him he had missed another chance to make the difference.
The Brazilian finished the night without a goal despite having chances to get on the scoresheet, while his teammates could only watch from the bench as opportunities went begging.
Jose Mourinho had already identified the problem before kick-off, bluntly pointing to the issue facing his forward, stating, “He’s missing the goal.”
Vini offered an equally frank assessment afterwards.
Rather than hide from another frustrating evening, he accepted responsibility on social media: “The goals will come back; I can’t miss that much…”
Two chances, no finish for Vinicius
Vinicius had two particularly clear openings against Elche, but neither produced the finish Real Madrid needed from their star forward.
The first arrived when he found himself one-on-one with the opposition goalkeeper.
Instead of finding the net, Vinicius caught the ball with the tip of his foot and sent his effort wide. Arda Guler was available during the move and called for the ball, but Vini backed himself to finish the chance.
He had another opportunity after the interval, this time following an excellent pass from Guler during a quick Real Madrid transition. Again, though, Vinicius could not find the target.
His evening ended in the 68th minute, with Mourinho deciding the Brazilian was tired and turning his attention towards Sunday’s Atletico Madrid derby.
Mourinho has a bigger decision to make
The numbers show why Vinicius’ finishing has become a talking point. He managed five shots against Elche, but only one was on target and none found the net.
After seven appearances this season, the Brazilian has scored just once, which is a striking return for a player Real Madrid rely upon to provide a major share of their attacking threat.
Ultimately, though, Real Madrid found another route to victory, with Arda Guler, Kylian Mbappe and Carlos Espi providing the goals in the 3-2 comeback.
