In a potentially significant setback for Real Madrid, it has come to light that Jude Bellingham is still struggling with a shoulder injury.

This information, reported by Jorge Picon, indicates that the club plans to assess his condition after the European Championship and at this point, the possibility of surgery has not been ruled out

Furthermore, if Bellingham undergoes an operation to address the issue permanently, he could be sidelined for at least two months.

It must be noted that Bellingham’s injury occurred on November 5 during a league match against Rayo Vallecano. A bad fall on his left shoulder caused the problem that continues to affect him.

This injury even led to a significant change in Madrid’s medical staff, with Niko Mihic being replaced as the team’s medical chief. Back then, after resting for a few games, Bellingham returned to play, but there is growing support for the idea of surgery.

It is important to note that he has been playing with this physical problem, as his left shoulder injury has not fully healed. While Real Madrid hope to avoid surgery, they understand that it is a viable option that is becoming increasingly likely.

Right now, the footballer is experiencing discomfort, something he has grown accustomed to playing through, but it remains bothersome.

Real Madrid are considering all possibilities, including surgery, which would force him to take a break for at least two months, but any decision will be made after the Euros

Real Madrid want to avoid surgery.

It is said that the goal is to avoid surgery if possible. The good news is that Bellingham has not suffered any further dislocations.

His shoulder is holding up well enough to stay in place, but the pain persists which is why the England international often plays with some form of protection to prevent further issues.

He has been seen wearing a shoulder pad commonly used in sports like the NFL. Additionally, he has had to rely on painkillers to manage the discomfort.

Real Madrid are in active negotiations with LOSC Lille for the transfer of Leny Yoro. After weeks of impasse, the club appear to have made some ground in the race to sign the Frenchman.

However, should the Yoro deal fall through in the coming weeks, Real Madrid have identified Lazio’s Mario Gila as the ideal alternative.

Formerly of RM Castilla, Gila currently plies his trade for Lazio and has emerged as a key defensive lynchpin for the Italian outfit, impressing onlookers with his technique and discipline.

Mario Gila picks up fresh injury

However, in a major development, it appears Mario Gila has picked up a fresh injury during training, reports Diario AS.

In the pre-season camp at Auronzo di Cadore, Gila appears to have fractured his left foot and could be out for several weeks.

Lazio confirmed the defender’s injury, stating, “Mario Gila underwent clinical and instrumental examinations which revealed a fracture of the phalanx of the big toe of his left foot, suffered during training.”

Gila has started taking the appropriate treatment and the extent of his injury will be known soon. However, as things stand, the defender could be out for at least the next few weeks.

What does this mean for Real Madrid?

Mario Gila’s fresh injury setback is sure to dwindle any hopes of a potential return to Real Madrid this summer.

In any case, Gila’s chances of returning to Santiago Bernabeu were slim given that Real Madrid have finally made some ground in the deal to sign top defensive target Leny Yoro.

Los Blancos, though, would have liked having someone like Gila available as an alternative, especially with LOSC Lille still demanding a fortune for the Frenchman.

Unfortunately, that might not be an option anymore, no thanks to Gila’s injury. The club, though, will keep a close eye on the Spaniard’s injury situation, knowing he could return to fitness before the end of the summer break.
