As we enter the final week of the summer transfer window, the Kylian Mbappe saga could be set for one more twist.

The French superstar’s future has been pendulating between signing for Real Madrid and staying at PSG all through the summer, without reaching a definitive conclusion.

An end appeared to be in sight after PSG welcomed him back into the squad earlier this month, with reports suggesting that Mbappe will remain in Paris for one more year during which they would look to convince him to sign a new deal, while Real Madrid wait to sign him for free in 2024.

However, over the past few days, there have been rumblings about Los Blancos’ making a push late in the transfer window for the 24-year-old, with PSG also open to a sale.

Real Madrid could launch an offer soon

Now, Foot Mercato is reporting that Real Madrid could launch a last-minute offer for Mbappe in the final week of the transfer window, after PSG’s upcoming Ligue 1 game against RC Lens.

The report claims that despite Mbappe and PSG showing signs of a rapprochement in recent days, the discussions between the two parties have not led to a positive outcome yet.

And, as such, the possibility of a separation of ways continues to be on the table.

Real Madrid, for their part, have started the season well but remain without an out-and-out goalscorer who can get them 30+ goals per season following Karim Benzema’s departure.

Thus, a move for Mbappe cannot be ruled out, with the report stating that the Merengues could make a last-ditch offer for him in the coming week.

Despite everything, the situation continues to remain open and the possibility of Mbappe sealing a final-minute switch to the Santiago Bernabeu cannot be ruled out.

Aurelien Tchouameni has had an exciting start to his career at Real Madrid. Since joining the club for almost €80 million last summer, the young Frenchman has now become a pivotal figure in Real Madrid’s midfield unit.

However, prior to his move to Santiago Bernabeu, the midfielder was closely linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain.

In a recent interview, Tchouameni opened up on his links to PSG but revealed his decision to join Real Madrid.

Talking about speculations linking him to PSG, Tchouameni said (h/t Madrid Zone), “PSG? Frankly, I thought about it. It’s a very big European club, we want the French clubs to succeed.”

“But honestly, when Real Madrid calls you, it’s very complicated to say no,” Tchouameni added.

The midfielder was linked with a move to PSG during his time at AS Monaco. Les Parisiens wanted to sign the youngster as part of their plans to reinforce the midfield unit.

Tchouameni, though, ended up opting for a move to Real Madrid, which turned out to be a prudent decision from the midfielder’s end.

Tchouameni’s career at Real Madrid

Aurelien Tchouameni made a total of 50 competitive appearances during his maiden season at Real Madrid.

Although the Frenchman was not entirely a first-team regular in Carlo Ancelotti’s setup, his stature in the team is expected to grow in the coming years.

Especially as Toni Kroos and Luka Modric move on at the end of the season, there is scope for Tchouameni to become a first-team regular in the Real Madrid midfield in the years to come.

The former AS Monaco starlet has already played a crucial role in the starting eleven so far this season and it is only going to continue as the season progresses.
