Real Madrid could offer €100 million midfielder in deal to sign Mbappe from PSG

It is no secret that Real Madrid will go after the signing of Kylian Mbappe this summer, after it was confirmed that the Frenchman will not renew his contract with PSG beyond 2024.
The Parisian giants wish to offload him right now in order to avoid losing him for free next year. And, despite everything that has happened in the past, they are willing to sell the 24-year-old superstar to Real Madrid in the summer.
However, with Los Blancos having already splashed in excess of €100 million on the signing of Jude Bellingham, there could be some issues in raising the capital to fund a move for Mbappe, who is expected to cost in excess of €150 million.
As such, Jason Burt of The Telegraph is reporting that Real Madrid could potentially offer midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni to PSG in order to secure Mbappe’s signing at a lower price.
Tchouameni joined the Merengues from AS Monaco only last summer, arriving in a deal worth €100 million, including add-ons.
It is public knowledge that PSG were also interested in signing the French midfielder, but he snubbed them as well as Liverpool after learning about Real Madrid’s interest and ended up at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Thrust into the spotlight soon after his arrival due to Casemiro’s exit, Tchouameni made a fine start to life in Madrid. However, his form waned in the second half of the season, leading to him falling behind Toni Kroos and Eduardo Camavinga in the pecking order.
Despite that, though, manager Carlo Ancelotti and the club, in general, are understood to have total faith in the young French midfielder.
So, it is a bit hard to imagine Real Madrid offering up Tchouameni plus cash to sign Mbappe this summer. The Merengues will go after the 24-year-old attacker’s signing, but it seems very unlikely that a player of Tchouameni’s potential and quality will be traded in the operation.

French midfielder admits considering PSG move before Real Madrid called him

Aurelien Tchouameni has had an exciting start to his career at Real Madrid. Since joining the club for almost €80 million last summer, the young Frenchman has now become a pivotal figure in Real Madrid’s midfield unit.
However, prior to his move to Santiago Bernabeu, the midfielder was closely linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain.
In a recent interview, Tchouameni opened up on his links to PSG but revealed his decision to join Real Madrid.
Aurelien Tchouameni on PSG links
Talking about speculations linking him to PSG, Tchouameni said (h/t Madrid Zone), “PSG? Frankly, I thought about it. It’s a very big European club, we want the French clubs to succeed.”
“But honestly, when Real Madrid calls you, it’s very complicated to say no,” Tchouameni added.

The midfielder was linked with a move to PSG during his time at AS Monaco. Les Parisiens wanted to sign the youngster as part of their plans to reinforce the midfield unit.
Tchouameni, though, ended up opting for a move to Real Madrid, which turned out to be a prudent decision from the midfielder’s end.
Tchouameni’s career at Real Madrid
Aurelien Tchouameni made a total of 50 competitive appearances during his maiden season at Real Madrid.
Although the Frenchman was not entirely a first-team regular in Carlo Ancelotti’s setup, his stature in the team is expected to grow in the coming years.
Especially as Toni Kroos and Luka Modric move on at the end of the season, there is scope for Tchouameni to become a first-team regular in the Real Madrid midfield in the years to come.
The former AS Monaco starlet has already played a crucial role in the starting eleven so far this season and it is only going to continue as the season progresses.
