By this time, it is well-established that Real Madrid plan on going after Bayern Munich star Alphonso Davies in the summer transfer window.

The 23-year-old left-back has been on the radars of the Merengues for a while now and the club appear ready to pull the trigger on his signing this summer, as he enters the final year of his contract in Bavaria.

Davies is seen as one of the biggest priorities for the summer at Real Madrid and it appears that no efforts will be spared to secure his signing.

David Alaba to help Real Madrid in Davies’ pursuit?

Amidst the links between Real Madrid and Alphonso Davies, journalist Christian Falk via Caught Offside is reporting that Los Blancos’ star defender David Alaba is in contact with the Bayern Munich star and trying to convince him to make the jump.

“David Alaba and Davies are obviously good friends and the former is of course speaking of how great Real Madrid is,” Falk wrote in his column.

“Don’t forget that Madrid can also pay a big salary! I think there’s a big chance for Real Madrid at the moment.”

Previously, Davies’ agent had mentioned that Alaba had been in regular contact with the left-back, with the pair sharing a great relationship. And it seems that the Austrian is trying to convince his friend to join him at the Bernabeu.

As mentioned earlier, Davies’ contract with Bayern Munich expires in 2025, meaning he will enter the final year of his deal this summer.

Talks over a new deal had been taking place last year, but things have come to a standstill since the change in guard within the Bavarian club’s upper management.

The talks with Alphonso Davies are not very far along at the moment. I’ve mentioned before that at the beginning of the prior summer window there was an agreement in place for €12m-a-year – but then the man behind it, Hasan Salihamidžić, was fired.

“Now, there is an open window because of the new sporting director, Christoph Freund, and the player’s camp is using this to get more time,” Falk added.

The journalist claims that the Bundesliga champions would be unwilling to offer ‘crazy money’ to the speedster to get him to renew, leaving the door open for Real Madrid to swoop in.

Speaking in an interview with Sport BILD (h/t AS), Germany legend Michael Ballack has claimed that Bayer Leverkusen sensation Florian Wirtz is ready to play for Real Madrid.

Wirtz is a player that Real Madrid have been closely monitoring for a while now, with the German sensation being seen as a long-term replacement for Toni Kroos, who announced his retirement yesterday.

A move for Wirtz is being planned for the summer of 2025 and Ballack believes that the Bundesliga title winner with Leverkusen is ready for the big move to the Santiago Bernabeu.

“Wirtz is ready for Real Madrid,” said Ballack.

“In terms of football, Wirtz can definitely play for Real Madrid. You can also see it in Jude Bellingham after his move from BVB: when you play with even better players, you become even better,” he added.

Wirtz has a contract with Bayer Leverkusen that runs until the summer of 2027. As things stand, the new German champions have no intentions of selling their prized asset this year.

However, there appears to be an acceptance that the German international will be on the move in 2025.

Other top clubs like Manchester City and Bayern Munich are also understood to be interested, but Real Madrid are likely to beat them in the race should it come down to that next year.

A move for Wirtz, though, could cost in excess of €100 million for Real Madrid should they do indeed decide to proceed with his signing next year.
